But from what I've been hearing, what you see with the UFC 72 card is what we'll get. It will be possible to add a match at the last minute because MMA is not regulated in the U.K. However, last minute fight additions is something that Pride was notorious for but that the UFC has gone out of it's way to avoid. The plan for UFC 72 was to be a Spike TV event and the UFC was caught off-guard when Spike took a pass. This event is more about establishing a presence in the UK as opposed to selling PPVs in the U.S. As for Shogun, there are some rumors that he might debut in July but I really haven't heard anything concrete. Considering the proximity of the event, this seems unlikely (if this was PRIDE with their notorious last-minute card modifications, I would be more inclined to believe it was a realistic possibility). However, with the open slot on the main card, it makes me wonder. Have you heard anything that makes you think there is a chance we could see Shogun at 72? Frankly, his addition is the only way I could be convinced to purchase this underwhelming event.
