Josh Gross from Sherdog.com is reporting that Niko Vitale has been tabbed to replace Murilo “Ninja” Rua to fight Joey Villasenor on the undercard of the Frank Shamrock vs. Phil Baroni main event this Friday.

Rua was taken off the card after he was unable to pass a physical that was administered by the California State Athletic Commission.

The article quotes Ken Pavia, the manager for Vitale, as saying that the fight will be non-title due to the fact that Vitale is a late addition to the card. Villasenor vs. Rua had originally been scheduled as a five-round bout to declare a winner of the vacant EliteXC middleweight title.
