In addition to interviewing B.J. Penn for CBS Sportsline, I was also afforded the honor of interviewing Jens Pulver. The two will be fighting each other this Saturday in the main event during the live season finale of the fifth season of The Ultimate Fighter. I thought Jens came off very well during the airing of shows this past season. Speaking with him directly was no let down. I think he was even... [Read More...]

Steve Sievert of the Houston Chronicle recently asked UFC president White if dissolving Pride was a possibility. To which White responded: “It’s a possibility. There’s a lot of different things we could do right now. That is definitely one of the possibilities.” I think most of us have known for awhile that dissolving Pride is a realistic possibility. It’s just interesting... [Read More...]

UFC business notes
Yahoo! is reporting that the UFC sold 7,850 tickets for this past weekend’s UFC 72 card in Belfast, Ireland, for a total house of $1.2 million. I’m not sure how legitimate those claims are because there have been a lot of reports that tickets didn’t sell as well as expected and that the house had to be “papered.” The payouts for last Tuesday’s UFC Fight Night 10... Lawler’s title fight postponed
When EliteXC first announced that Murilo “Ninja” Rua had not been granted a license for his proposed bout this Friday against Joey Villasenor for the vacant EliteXC middleweight title, the first person I thought of was Robbie Lawler. Kimbo vs. Ray Mercer will be an exhibition
The New Jersey State Athletic Commission is only partially approving this Saturday’s match between Kimbo Slice and Ray Mercer. The match will take place as an exhibition. The fight will not be judged so if it goes the difference, it will be declared a draw. Somehow I don’t think the promoter or the fans going to see the show will seem to care, because I don’t know anyone who thinks... [Read More...]
