Self proclaimed billionaire threatens ex-billionaire

Self proclaimed billionaire threatens ex-billionaire

I’m not precisely sure why I’m posting this, but I find it very funny. There’s a guy named Percy Walker who claims to be a billionaire. He’s apparently from Greensboro, N.C. and claims he’s a hedge fund manager. He might be right about all that he’s claiming, I just have never heard of the guy (sorry, I don’t follow billionaires and hedge fund managers). Mr.... [Read More...]

White: Tito didn’t want to fight Forrest

On Saturday, UFC president Dana White continued his campaign of trying to kill the credibility of one of his biggest draws, Tito Ortiz. According to Iole, White tried to match Ortiz up with Forrest Griffin when they first began putting together the card for UFC. Ortiz declined. “Tito didn’t want to come over here, the big sissy,” White said. Forrest said after yesterday’s win over Hector... [Read More...]

Thoughts on UFC 72 (spoilers)

Thoughts on UFC 72 (spoilers)

I thought UFC 72 was a solid show, coming off a great show this past Tuesday night at UFC Fight Night 10. The first two matches were clearly the best, and made the PPV worth the price. In regard to the opener, Ed Herman vs. Scott Smith, how come the UFC rejected UFCMania.com as a sponsor yet gave the thumbs up to Ed Herman for his “CondomDepot.com” sponsorship? I was waiting for him to... [Read More...]

Predictions for UFC 72

Predictions for UFC 72

I’m suddenly excited about UFC 72 this afternoon. I think a lot of it has to do with the 3 p.m. ET start time. Growing up, I remember watching boxing in the afternoon on TV. The caliber of fighters were actually pretty good, from what I remember. I have to go to work soon and do my radio show on ESPN 920 here in Philly and the idea of coming home and being able to watch a live UFC event is pretty... [Read More...]

Baroni says Shamrock is panicking

I interviewed Phil Baroni today for an interview that will be appearing on CBS Sportsline early next week. I was a little nervous going into the interview because I’ve seen and heard Phil get short with reporters in the past. But I can’t complain because he was super nice and really cool (as are most fighters I speak with). A few notable things he said (well, actually, he said a lot of... [Read More...]

Corey Hill has injured rib

Corey Hill has injured rib

It turns out the reason why Corey Hill is not on next weekend’s live finale for the fifth season of The Ultimate Fighter is because he injured his rib while training at the Miletich Fighting Systems training center in Bettendorf, Iowa. Apparently Hill trained with MFS for a couple months and went back home to his family after getting injured. I’m also told he’s considering his options... [Read More...]
