Lutter pulls out of UFC 74 bout vs. Jensen

August 1, 2007 by Sam Caplan

Travis Lutter has suffered another setback. The UFC middleweight veteran has announced on his blog that he’s suffered a neck re-injury during training and will not be able to fight Ryan Jensen during the UFC 74 undercard.

Here’s Lutter’s official announcement:

Saturday July 28th I was training and re-aggravated a old injury. After giving my neck a chance to heal I decided I was not going to be healed in time for the fight. I would like to thank all the people that were helping me prepare for this fight and I look forward to fighting in the near future.

is lutter the hardest-luck story of the year so far? running out of water to lose against silva and then STILL competing in the non-title bout (ahhh…imagine the awkward interviews), and now this

Lutter would have loss anyway. Jensen has got great hands and would have knocked him out. The UFC is going to tollerate so much of Travis before the cut his contract.
