Listen to UFC 74 Preview on Inside the Cage Radio

August 20, 2007 by Sam Caplan

Matt Cava of UFCTakedown.com and I were joined by special guest Luke Thomas of BloodyElbow.com as we previewed all nine matches scheduled for UFC 74 in Las Vegas this Saturday. Luke’s technical analysis was great and makes the show a must-listen. The show is now available for your listening pleasure.

Here are some of the key topics that were addressed during the show:

- Now that Wanderlei Silva is signed, what’s next for him?

- Who should Brandon Vera fight in his first match back?

- If Randy Couture loses, will UFC 74 be the last time we see him in the Octagon?

- Does Josh Koscheck have a shot at upsetting GSP?

- Does Kendall Grove vs. Patrick Cote belong on the main card?

- Whether or not Frank Mir’s match vs. Antoni Hardonk is a must-win situation for Mir

- Does Clay Guida have what it takes to upset Marcus Aurelio?

- And much, much more!

-Wandy vs Chuck 30/12/07 no excuses.

-Vera vs Tim, Arlovski or Nog, that way no matter what somebody looks good.

-Randy has two fights left on his existing contract and unless he gets crushed we will certainly see captain America again.

-Kos is gonna loose! If he ends up on top and thats a big if, I expect a Submission win for Georges. Otherwise look for a TKO via strikes in the 2nd. Kos wanted nothing to do with Diego on the mat but I see him taking the chance with Georges.

-Cote vs Grove has no reason to be on the card! Not with Guida vs Aurelio on the under card! Guida has never had a boring fight! I cant say the same for Cote. Plus Guida vs Aurelio is of more importance to their division.

-I would say Mir has to win and win big! Spots in the big show are limited and he has not impressed in quite some time. I think barring a strong showing he should focus on his color work, where he no doubt has a big future.

-I think Guida out hustles Aurelio who is a very deliberate fighter and takes the Dub this fight will play out in the scrambles where there a very few like Guida!!
