Jamie Varner / Report: Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira to fight Frank Mir
Report: Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira to fight Frank Mir
TAGG Radio is reporting that Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira’s next opponent will be none other than Frank Mir.
Hey, does Mir get to fight for the title against Randy if he beats Big ‘Nog?

Mir will (should) get tooled. If the UFC can’t sign Fedor and Nog beats Mir, I guess it is Nog vs. Randy for the title? If the old Mir shows up it could be a great fight though. My bet would be Nog.
Ofcourse What might happen is it will be a stand up fight with Frank Mir gassing and Big Nog throwing punching Combo’s all night. Maybe not …………… we will see intresting matchup anyway’s
Everybody was saying Nog was in line for a title shot after his 1st UFC appearance. If so, Mir is a huge step down.
Nog is gonna keep it standing until Mir gasses, then he’ll light em up till Mir gives his back, then its curtains.
This is defintely a step down for Nog but at least it will increase is draw.
I’m atleast happy that Nog doesn’t get a fast road to the title with the new talent in the division.
I want to see Nog win this fight standing. If you’ve got any aspirations of becoming champ you should really be dominating someone like Mir in the striking game.
Like #2 it’s punch combos all night.
Nog almost got KO’ed by someone we was expected to roll over in his last fight. A lot of people I watched with thought the fight might have been stopped if it wasn’t Nog. In any case, I think this is a great fight. Mir is somewhat underrated now. I think Big Nog is in for a battle, and frankyl this is not a step down.
This will be a good match up. Big Nog is Frank Mir but with all the skills and none of the hype. Stylistically, he is the same, just in a different league.
And when it comes to fighting Randy Couture, he matches up well with him also. That could be a doozy.
i think Sam will likely post an update on the story given the new news that’s out there but Mir’s camp is looking to fight Kongo and did not seem too high on the idea of facing Nogueira. Here’s a link to my coverage:

It should be a good battle of submission specialists, if it goes to the ground Mir could have Nogueira in trouble, I would keep it stand up if I’m Big Nog, use your boxing and mua thai rather using the mat.
