“After the Jardine and Griffin upsets, that means we’ll see Randy vs. Kongo for the heavyweight title.”

'I think the wording here might be off, you mean the winner of Nog-Kongo will face Couture right?'

Hi UFCDAILY.COM,

No, he's saying with all of the upsets in 2007, Kongo will probably defeat Nog leading to Cheick vs. Randy. (He's assuming the winner of that fight gets a title shot, we'll see.)

Considering the recent rash of PRIDE flops in the UFC I would not want to pick a winner in the Kongo/Nog match. After looking into it further I believe #2 Don is right. I no way shape or form should Kongo beat Nog and in no way shap or form should Kongo be fighting for the title. Should Kongo beat Nog, he'll get tooled big time by Randy. I will never again count out Randy.

Nogueira matches up very well against Kongo. Nog can hold his own standing, and when he takes it to the ground, Kongo will be outclassed. Sure Kongo showed a vastly improved ground game against Crocop, but that in no way prepares him for Nog's jiu jitsu. There's little reason to doubt Nog's transition to the cage will prove to be closer to Rampage's than to Crocop's or Shogun's.

I think what is most important to note on top of the matchup is that if the winner of Nog-Kongo is to fight Couture for the belt it will not be on the UFC's super bowl weekend card. It would seem that either the middleweight or LHW belt would be on the line at that event.
