Controversial IFL highlights of Ricco Rodriguez back in action
Normally I don’t post video here on 5 Oz. because I’m just now down with copyright violation or violating intellectual property. But the IFL has been gracious enough to grant me permission to display video highlights of the heavyweight match between Ben Rothwell from the Silverbacks and Ricco Rodriguez of the Pitbulls from this past Thursday’s finals in Hollywood, Fla. There was some... [Read More...]

Diego Sanchez considering move to lightweight
In a post-UFC 76 article by Dave Doyle of Yahoo!, apparently Diego Sanchez is not ruling out dropping down to 155 lbs. following last night’s lost to Jon Fitch via unanimous decision: “I’m contemplating in my mind if I’m going to drop to (1)55 or not, because I’m a smaller welterweight. I could do more powerlifting and put some more weight on or I could lose some weight.” It... [Read More...]
The Dana White Show (a recap of Dana’s UFC 76-related comments)
The odds of me ever hosting a show with Dana White are slim and none and slim just got rear naked choked by Forrest Griffin late in the third round. But what’s to stop me from taking Dana’s pre-UFC 76 and post-UFC 76 comments from places like MMANews.com (which had a summary on some comments he made on Scott Ferrall’s show on Sirius) and Yahoo! (where Kevin Iole has some post-show... [Read More...]
Is Chuck Liddell considering retirement?
Kevin Iole has an article up on Yahoo! with some post-UFC 76 fallout. Maybe I’m breaking the unwritten rule that other writers shouldn’t critique other writers publicly, but I think Kevin missed the boat by making the crux of the piece about Dana calling out bloggers and PRIDE fan boys. The REAL story is that Chuck Liddell could be considering retirement. Iole drops in this little gem and... [Read More...]

UFC 76: Post-show thoughts on Jardine and Griffin upsets and more
I don’t know where to begin. But let’s begin with Liddell vs. Jardine: Remember when I said they should have canceled the match? A lot of you said I was crazy. Remember when I said this was a legit main event caliber match? A lot of you said I was full of it. Well, I have to eat crow when I make bold picks like Koscheck over GSP that don’t pan out and I have to own up to it but there... [Read More...]
