Rich Franklin and Jorge Gurgel on local Cincinnati radio

Rich Franklin was a guest on yesterday’s Lance McAllister radio show on 1530 HOMER The Sports Animal here in Cincinnati. Click here if you want to listen to the entire interview, it starts around the 20 minute mark.

Franklin talks about several topics, including his training, how he mentally prepares for a fight, whether or not the PR work he’s been doing has affected his training, and a lot more. For those of you who think Franklin’s going to get slaughtered again by Silva, I’d urge you to listen to this interview. This will not be the same fight as last time. I can guarantee that much.

Also,  Jorge Gurgel was on with Gregg Doyel and Mo Egger this morning on their show. You can listen to that interview here.

  1. Speaking of interviews, and I’m sure Sam will plug this on the site when he gets a chance, but the interview he did with our site the other day that he posted about is now available for listening pleasure.

It is broken in to 2 parts, a 2 hour interview will do that, and can be accessed at the following link:

Hmm, listened to it twice, I don’t hear anything different from any other Franklin hype. Except he took himself out of his routine (aren’t you the one who said for Sylvia “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it?”) and he seems pretty confident he’s going to take it to him.

Problem is I love Franklin as a fighter, dude is a brawler, he’s technical and he’s a well spoken/intelligent fighter.

I just think Silva has too many of these abilities as well as many other tools he has yet to showcase. And he has crazy gumby legs.

Regardless, this is going to be an awesome card. I just hope at some point we see *at least* one KO, cause the mass decision of the last card proved evenly matched but not as exciting.

Whoever walks out with the belt Saturday the UFC can still be happy they have a class act as the champ. Not a cheater like Sherk. :P

I think taking himself out of his routine was key. Taking himself out of the element in Cincinnati with all the hype building, in my opinion, was probably a good thing for him.
