This is great. The UFC was starting to feel like a monopoly and it would have been a shame for a Legend like Fedor to be under Dana Whites thumb

I asked Mitchell Maxwell this very question. He would only say that Ecko “was a friend” of some of their associates, and allowed them to use it so they could have a nice venue. And it was nice. Open bar, free t-shirts, racks of clothes and modern art pieces on the walls. Still, it makes me curious.

Why were the Ecko offices used as the venue, is he a part of the investment group?

Nice report Matt. The clause in Fedor’s contract about fighting the UFC Champion is very interesting, I can’t wait to see how that plays out in the days to come with Couture’s press conference and the pending arbitration/litigation he might end up going through with the UFC.

I am also very interested to see what happens with Monte Cox’s stable of fighters now. He has said they are not under contract to him so that they can come and go as they please, and also that if they are intending on signing with M-1 that they will need to get new management. Don’t know what’s going to happen with all those fighters and if they think Monte will still have the time to manage them properly with his new position. I thought Monte Cox’s involvement was the biggest news from the press conference.

Nice coverage, gave me more answers than most. If anyone can handle this type of pressure, it’s Fedor. Still, what happens if he loses?
