Furthermore, Bernstein has a very chill, natural delivery as opposed to Mauro’s over-the-top, twitchy, 20 cappuccino, forced, fake, bad-pun-riddled, smarmy, WWE promoter announcing style. Bernstein lent the broadcast booth as sense of calm professionalism, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The more Bernstein watches the sport, the better he’ll get at his job. There is certainly no shortage of MMA fight and instructional DVDs that he can buy to help bring himself up to speed faster. I very much hope they keep using him (and Quadros) for at least the ShoXC cards, if not the EliteXC broadcasts as well.

I liked seeing Al Bernstein on the broadcast. He is no Mauro but he’s a familiar voice and if they continue to use him I’m sure he’ll get better at calling MMA.

I also was surprised to the the Kimbo street fight video in the promo. Ya know CFFC should have sold them some highlights from the Kimbo/Mercer fight to use for the promo, we know they could have use the money!

So Shayna is ready to fight now? or i should say “EliteXC and Gina are ready to fight finally”? lol .

Ivan , its old old story among female MMA fans and fighters, u just dont know that and i dont want to repeat it again here. EliteXC has been doing OK in most of cases, but The only part i dont like about them is their female division and that silly “protected cage” for their star.

That really pissed us off , although the top fighters at 135lb dont complain officially coz they are nice girls, dont want o say bad about eac others and know they still need the ” face” of Female MMA to spread to the world. But a lot of ridiculous things has been going under the water i have heard, most of the fighters U named has posed doubt to the treatment of EliteXC`s female division.

i am not a representative of Female MMA but still very proud of Shayna if she decided to fight against a heavy fighter than her usual weight. My money would be on Shayna too.

Dont take me wrong, im not saying Gina is not a good fighter. Her striking skills and efforts for ground fight is excellent. She has big potential obviously.

But first of all, she has to make weight if she wants to prove herself at 135 lb against Tara, Amanda, Shayna, Roxanne, and Debi. Laura, those top girls and legends. Anyways, its a good sign that EliteXC is taking female division serious finally.

Are you kidding me? If anything, it’s Carano that EliteXC would be protecting if they didn’t book that fight. Baszler has shown an ability to beat any female mixed martial artist in North America except for Tara LaRosa and Amanda Buckner, who are the top two female MMA fighters in the U.S., and even against them she put up good fights. In a battle of Carano and Baszler, even though Carano would have a weight advantage, it would be likely that Baszler would win, and possibly with a very quick submission just as in the Jennifer Tate fight. EliteXC probably should have booked Baszler to fight Carano on the Hawaii show, but instead they booked Carano to fight someone who had just lost her last fight not long before.

My money would be on Baszler.

The only time I think it would be appropriate to show brief shots of his street fights is if they do any documentary-style promos about his backstory, because then, I think it becomes very relevant.
