A flicker of hope?
At yesterday’s press conference which announced the arrival of M-1 Global, and their marquee signing, Fedor Emelianenko, new CEO, Monte Cox made some interesting comments regarding a still possible fight between Randy Couture and Fedor in the UFC Octagon. If the UFC gets Randy back and they call and want Fedor to fight, we’ll send him to the UFC. I know you’re probably thinking this... [Read More...]
M-1 Press Conference Provides As Many Questions As Answers
Near the end of Monday night’s M-1 Global press conference in New York on Monday evening, which was characterized by repeated promises to be “a global, open company”, a reporter asked whether there were any restrictions at all on Fedor Emelianenko’s contract with the company. “No,” said Sibling Sports president and CEO Mitchell Maxwell. “That’s the short... Fedor’s NYC M-1 Press Event
At 5:21 PM (New York time) last evening, Fedor Emelianenko entered Mark Ecko headquarters in New York City, accompanied by several other well-dressed gentlemen and two stunningly beautiful women (whom we all later learned were the Russian interpreters for Fedor and Vadim Finkelchtein, Fedor’s manager) for the official announcement of his signing with M-1 Global. And for whatever reason, I was invited. As... [Read More...]
Brad Imes first opponent for Brock Lesnar?
According to MMAScoops.com, this could be a possibility: MMAScoops.com has learned that Brad Imes has been contacted by UFC and is being talked about as a possible opponent for Brock Lesnar’s UFC’s debut fight in February of 2008. Brad Imes? Really? That’s a trap fight for Lesnar, in my opinion. Imes’ jiu jitsu has grown leaps and bounds since the reality show and he gogoplata’d... [Read More...]
My UFC 77 Live Experience
When a big time UFC pay per view comes to your city and you’re as big of an MMA fan as I am, is there really a question in your mind that I wouldn’t be there? The best part? It cost me nothing. I’m quite fortunate that a friend of mine’s sister knows a guy who works for the UFC. He told her a few months ago that he could get tickets, so I was like “Cool, I won’t... [Read More...]

Middleweight contender matchup benched?
Not having Jason MacDonald and Yushin Okami on the main card of UFC 77 is madness. Sure, it probably won’t be the most exciting match of all time, and will probably end up as a slow ground n’ pound victory for Okami but this fight is most likely for the next middleweight title shot. You would think that a matchup of this importance would be shown on the main card. This seems pretty disrespectful... [Read More...]
UFC 77 Video: Dana White on ESPN commenting about Randy Couture’s resignation
I’ve been critical of Dana White recently in how he’s handled himself from a PR standpoint in regard to Randy Couture’s resignation from the UFC. However, in this video with ESPN host Josh Elliott, White is at his best. He really stepped up to the plate with this interview and played it beautifully. Dana should keep a copy of this video handy and play it before every interview with... [Read More...]
