UFC 78 Bonuses
There actually were some exciting fights at UFC 78, however unless you were live you didn’t see them. Two undercard fights earned bonuses.
Fight of the Night: Thiago Alves vs. Chris Lytle. Each fighter received a $55,000 bonus check. That should cover Lytle’s medical bills to stich up that nasty cut.
KO of the Night: Ed Herman got the $55,000 bonus check. He floored Joe Doerksen early in Rd 3 with a big left hook.
Submission of the Night: Akihiro Gono got the $55,000 bonus check for his slick armbar over Tamdan McCrory in Rd 2.

I’d really like to see McCrory do well. Unfortunately, he’s pretty inexperienced at the moment. He has such long limbs, it’s going to be easy to get caught in this stuff. He’ll be back, I’d love to see him against a striker though.

The recent raise in bonuses in my opinion is a direct reflect of recent complaints about money by former ufc employees namely Randy Couture….God knows UFC didnt expect -78- to make more money than previous ppvs to justify the increase. Its a pre emptive strike that is 6 months behind.
