Gareb Shamus out as IFL’s CEO

The IFL has announced that Gareb Shamus has stepped down as the company’s Chief Executive Officer.

Shamus, a co-founder of the IFL with current commissioner Kurt Otto, had been with the league since its inception in 2005.

Former Showtime executive Jay Larkin, who joined the IFL full-time as its President and Chief Operating Officer on Sept. 21, will now serve as the company’s President and CEO.

Shamus will remain affiliated with the company as a consultant.

I think Gareb’s heart was in the right place, but I also think he was responsible for the corny names and logos. He needs to go back to trading cards.
