MMA Mania is reporting that Josh Koscheck will make his return to the Octagon at UFC 82 in March:
Welterweight contender Josh Koscheck (9-2) will return to action at UFC 82 at the Nationwide Arena on March 1, joining American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) teammate Jon Fitch on the Columbus, Ohio, fight card.
Opponents have been discussed to face the former NCAA Division I wrestling champion, but no bout agreements have been signed at this time.
Hopefully Koscheck has learned from his fight with GSP that you can’t simply just get by on your wrestling and your athleticism. Koscheck is one of the best wrestlers in all of MMA, but that alone doesn’t make him championship material. If he has continued to work on his all-around game, I am happy to see him return to the Octagon.
The report also goes on to say that this is Koscheck’s last fight on the contract he signed right after the first season of The Ultimate Fighter. I’m sure Kos will see some nice dollar signs thrown his way because he’s a homegrown product for the UFC and a well known name.
