Exclusive: IFL releases two World Grand Prix semifinalists
Sources within the IFL confirmed to FiveOuncesOfPain.com (www.FiveOuncesOfPain.com) on Wednesday morning that heavyweight competitors Bryan Vetell and Shane Ott have been released from their contracts.
Both Vetell and Ott competed during the IFL World Grand Prix semifinals on Nov. 3 in Chicago.
Vetell lost to Roy Nelson via TKO at 1:01 of round three while Ott passed out against Antoine Jaoude due to a triangle at 3:29 in the first round.

Vetell is a great guy and I’m sorry to see him go. He actually lost in the third round of that fight, though, and Ott didn’t tap, he passed out instead. Not to split hairs or anything.

That’s a shame – two good guys who I hope will get fights in other orgs soon.

Somebody will grab these two fast.
Lets see if Dana still claims he has no interest in IFL fighters!

Those 2 are definately not the biggest names that the IFL has lost. Hopefully they get their act together.

Evan: I read that Andre Gusmao was recently signed to fight David Heath on the Feb. 2 UFC Card. I guess Dana is already eating his words. The only thing I wonder is how big his spoon is.
