I would put Marcus Davis above Gurgel. He is is acting basically as an ambassador in Europe because of his nickname, Irish Hand Grenade. I still think they should find a way to get this on Spike or CBS, especially after UFC 78.

I put Marcus Davis on the level of Jorge Gurgel, he could win all of his fights and still not get a title shot. He’s there to have competitive fights and be an ambassador for Europe. Besides, Liaudin is a quality fighter, he arm barred that Dennis Siver guy at UFC 70 and knocked a roided up Torres out at UFC 75. So he’s pretty well rounded.

It should be a pretty good fight.

Pretty solid overall card. I wonder though if Marcus Davis will ever fight someone of a higher caliber? He always seems to get matched up with average-to-below-average fighters. He should really be fighting a tougher guy by now, perhaps even someone in the top rung of the UFC welterweight division. I mean let him fight Diego Sanchez, or a Koscheck. Heck even a Burkman or Swick would be better.

Also it looks like Tatame magazine is reporting a new fight for UFC 79 of newly signed LHW Luis Arthur “Banha” Cane against James Irvin.
