Report: Rampage and Forrest to serve as coaches for TUF 7

UFC.com has indicated that the UFC will be making a special announcement during tonight’s telecast of the live season finale of The Ultimate Fighter 6.

According to Dann Stupp of MMAjunkie.com, the UFC is likely to reveal tonight that Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Forrest Griffin will serve as coaches for the upcoming seventh season of The Ultimate Fighter, which is expected to begin filming in late January.

Stupp adds in his report that it is not yet known whether Jackson and Griffin will fight each other after the seventh season has finished airing.

An official for Spike TV declined to comment on the report when contacted by FiveOuncesOfPain.com.

It should at least been Rampage and Wand… Wand could have given the TUF scrubs some training, ChuteBoxe style :D

With Rampage’s hand jacked up, he couldn’t fight any time soon anyway. This actually makes a bit of sense. You get two coaches with a LOT of personality, you finally get your light heavyweight champion in the spotlight at a time when he can’t fight, and maybe you manage to make enough changes to actually make this series interesting again.

Another division delayed. At least this TUF won’t have some BS manufactured hate between the coaches. The Serra vs. Hughes war of words was overly played out, and got really boring after a while.

Both guys have a lot of personality, and that could make for an interesting season. Banter and comic relief, etc. Does either of them have any experience as a coach? If not, it could be kinda dull to watch comparatively inexperienced fighters flounder around.

You guys, I wouldn’t worry so much about whether or not they’ll be able to coach these guys. Both Forrest and Rampage are awesome fighters, so no doubt they have some tricks they can share with the new guys. More importantly, they will be bringing their own coaches. Forrest and Rampage have to worry about being leaders, not coaches.

I was going to say, this is huge for Juanito… do you think Forrest will bring Randy in? :P Still, it would have been television gold to have seen Wandy knocking out inexperienced fighters in training :P
