Fedor vs. Hong Man-Choi at Yarennoka on NYE is a done deal

MMA Weekly is reporting that Fedor Emelianenko is officially slated to fight Korean K-1 kickboxer Hong Man-Choi on New Year’s Eve from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

No word on what the rules of the fight will be, as that was supposedly one of the sticking points between the two camps. It will probably be a mixed martial arts bout but with rules more like you see in the United States than in Japan (i.e. no head stomps, soccer kicks, foot stomps, or knees to the head on the ground).

Hopefully Sam will move him lower in the rankings after this pathetic match-up.

I’ve got Fedor ranked a lot lower than a lot of people do.

  3. Evan says:

eh….not even sure he belongs at number 2.

well you have Wandy at number 2 on the ranks here…I have him at 6 on my own personal listings.

and you have Randy at number 1…he’s nowhere near number one in my books. I think you have to look past that he’s 44 years old and he has just won 2 fights…He would have lost to noguiera if he had the chance to fight him.

I think people are under-estimating Fedor right now because he’s playing it smart and safe. Personally I think he should retire…he doesn’t need to fight anymore.
