There have been a lot of people making the mistake of taking Frank Shamrock and his BloodBrothersPPV.com site at face value. That’s not a dig at Shamrock, in fact, I am complementing him. Frank is a fighter with a good mind for business. As good as he is as a fighter, he might be a better promoter.
A few blogs saw the initial date on the Blood Brothers site and made the mistake of running with it. Why would Frank have his company list a date for a fight that isn’t correct? To get people talking about it.
We never mentioned the initial March date for the supposed Frank Shamrock vs. Ken Shamrock fight because, well, I had my doubts.
I’m not the only one with doubts, either.
Cung Le isn’t buying into the March date, and he would know a little better than I, considering he claims in a new interview with PunchDrunkerGamer.com that he’ll be fighting Frank under the Strikeforce banner towards the end of March:
PDG: So you think that you and Frank are fighting at the Strikeforce event in March? Because there have been a lots of rumors that Frank is fighting Ken Shamrock on March 31st.
Cung: Yes, as far as I know we will be fighting March 29th. The fight with his brother is slated for next year. Why would they have that fight on a Monday night? I think that our fight will be bigger anyway because it’s not like Ken has had a lot of success lately with his two losses to Tito Ortiz. Fans will watch that fight because of the drama between the two but I believe that our fight will be better.
