Yeah ivan.... infact, i'll clear it up a bit more, thompson is the one who couldn't make the rematch due to not making weight, then having a shoulder injury the second time around. Eddie never ducks or picks a fight, he would have fought the rematch and likely won it.

My mistake, I had just read in the Wrestling Observer that Alvarez had chosen to sign with EliteXC instead of taking the 2/1/08 fight against Thompson in Las Vegas, but I didn't know all of the circumstances behind all of that.

Ivan, Alvarez and Thompson were suppose to rematch on Dec. 8 and then Bodog moved it to Nov. 24 on short notice. Alvarez was ready for both fights.

And in regard to Feb. 1, Alvarez's decision to leave Bodog has nothing to do with the reason why a card in Vegas won't be happening in Vegas on that date. In fact, there was talk of another opponent for Thompson.

So had Alvarez stayed, the second rematch would have been postponed too. I'm not sure what you expect from the guy? Is he supposed to put his entire life on hold for one rematch? The guy just had his second kid, he needs to start getting compensated.

And Thompson has publicly expressed his concern with Bodog's future as well. He only has one fight on his current deal left and I would say the odds of him returning are unlikely too.

A lot of arrogance there from a guy who got beat by Nick Thompson the first time they fought and then turned down a chance at a rematch against Thompson (which would have been on February 1 in Las Vegas).
