Unless they act quick to put some better fights on that card it will have to be on Spike for free. Nobody would pay $45 with the two bouts that are currently scheduled. And yes I know it’s only 2 fights but if they want a buzz around the card and want people to anticipate it, they should start filling it with top level talent, not Houston Alexander and Michael Bisping.

I know DirecTV had a package for 77, 78, and 79 which came with a beanie and a membership the UFC Fight Club, whatever that is.

Oversaturation doesn’t concern me. I’ll be be here long after the bandwagon jumpers find the next thing.
Has anybody put any thought into a possible subscription ppv service? I can get a seasons pack for hockey , but why not UFC? I know it probably loses them a little money, still, it would be handy.

Someone at the UFC did a poor job of looking at what else was going on in Manchester that weekend. Manchester United has a match that day and “Old Trafford” fits 70,000 people so that takes away a huge part of your ticket sales.

Oversaturation is a crazy idea. Maybe too many PPVs from one company is a legit concern, but never too much MMA. I don’t see anybody whining that there is too much football or basketball… if anything, it brings the sport into more of a mainstream light.

More shows, less PPV.

From personal experience I could say that if they didn’t put on as many shows, they would make a lot more money. This past year the only PPV events I ordered were 74 & 79. The rest can easily be seen by hundreds of people at any given bar around town. While it still is $45 per television, that is no where near as much as it would be if 1/4 of the people at said bar were watching at home.

I wouldn’t put on less shows, just less big ones. A free PPV caliber event or 2 and 2 fight nights would be great., cut that down to about 6 actual PPVs and it would be ideal.

As an MMA fan, I prefer more events, not less. If it gets to expensive for me, I’ll just go to the nearest Bar that’s playing it and watch it there. While that’s probably not the best money-making plan for the UFC by making us choose, it’s not like the fans will be hurting for places to watch it.

Having friends come over and help split the bill isn’t a bad option either.
