Chuck Liddell’s new cornerman

Sitting in Chuck Liddell’s corner during UFC 79 was none other than famed inspirational speaker, Tony Robbins. Robbins, however, was not there to cheer on Liddell.

Robbins was there to help inspire my trainers,” Liddell said.

So basically, Robbins was there to inspire the trainers to inspire Liddell? Whatever the reason, it definitely worked. Liddell looked much more determined in this fight than he did in the loss to Keith Jardine.

Hopefully, Liddell can put the losses to Quinton Jackson and Jardine completely behind him. Liddell is likely only one or two more wins away from a title shot. As the schedule plays out with Jackson and Forrest Griffin meeting up in the early summer, Liddell and Jackson could very well be the main event for the December show.

    I just think that would be annoying and Hackleman doesnt seem like the guy who’d take well to some dude telling him to be more assertive while he’s shouting instructions at his fighter.

    If Chuck wanted a better way to get his trainers amped, they should have just put Caplan in Chuck’s corner, and during rounds he could tell Hackleman that he can check leg kicks better than Chuck.
