I can smile again the UFC’s stranglehold is loosening and we can all breath again and fighters that did not make their name on some damn reality show can make a decent living fighting again!!
Hey guys, not gonna vouch for the validity of the following post, but this chick is supposedly an insider with consistant information, so I thought I would post it for anyone who cares…

I just talked to DW and this is what he had to say:
The split was amicable and the terms were decided on in advance. Cro Cops $350k (plus bonuses) contract had a clause in it stating that if he lost two consecutive fights Zuffa had the right to void the existing agreement and negotiate a new one.
CC never dreamed that he would be so overwhelmed by the level of competition he has faced in the UFC so far and and the losses have impacted him mentally.
The UFC did NOT cut Cro Cop from the roster nor did they threaten to make him sit out until his contract expired if he didn’t take the pay cut deal.
Rather than negotiate a new contract with the UFC right now (and risk racking up more losses), Cro Cop wants to get a couple of tune up fights (and wins) in some of the smaller shows (no more tune up matches for him in the UFC) in hopes of rebuilding his confidence and getting himself back on track.
DW understood completely and supported Cro Cop in his decision. The last thing DW wants to do is shell out a six-figure purse to a fighter that isn’t fighting worth a dayum. Even though it would have been lower than the original figure, it would still be a waste of money and resources.
Cro Cops ultimate goal is to win the UFC HW championship belt and DW believes he still has the potential to accomplish that goal. CC’s plan when he signed with the UFC was, “I will become Champion after three matches. I will need two and a half or three months off between each match. I expect to hold the UFC belt by the Summer. Then I want Pride Champion Fedor Emelianenko, Vs Me the UFC Heavyweight Champion on New Years Eve.”
They’ll probably even have Fedor fight Cro Cop again.
Randy is going to like like a giant beside all these asian dudes.
This is more of a side note:
Hey Sam (Caplan), there was a lot of talk a while ago about a “blue chip” sponsor for the UFC coming up, they were kicking around the idea of Budweiser and others.. I was watching HCF (Hardcore Championship Fighting) this weekend and Bud is their title sponsor. You really think someone like Bud would be that hard to land if they’re already backing the smaller Canadian show, or do you think it’s harder because they sponsor “UFC’s Competition”? Just mulled that over as I remember Dana was talking about the mad promoting he was doing to try and push the brand to sponsors.
Thanks Sam. I’m also hearing that during the press conference Cro Cop specifically says he will come back and fight in the UFC. Anybody else hear this from a credible source?
Wha? So he’s basically going back to extended spring training until he gets his swing back? To a competitor? Staffed by the crew of the company Zuffa bought out? Man. What a bizarre story. Almost seems like a fighter co-promo except with a wink and a nod instead of a contract…
I guess I was right and wrong about his contract. If Cindy claims there was an out-clause in the contract, maybe it’s not so hypocritical in the face of Dana White’s other current contract squabbles…
Even if this Cindy chick did talk with Dana, that doesn’t meaning Dana wasn’t blowing smoke up her ass. I think that’s far from the full story and there’s some smoke and mirrors going on here.
I thought UFC already signed the deal with Budwieser?
The lack of any references to “fuck”, “pussy”, “faggot”, “Long Duck Dong”, “fuckin’”, “gay”, “of all all-times”, “Fedor not top 10″, “not Japan”, “crazy Russians”, “sneaky Japs”, “Randy’s agent”, “bitchslap”, etc etc makes me doubt that she actually spoke with Dana.
what’s up creamsicle joggin suit
PRIDE 2.0 ?
My God could we jump the gun any faster?
Evan: DREAMs never die.
“DREAMs never die”
And so it begins.
I can smile again the UFC’s stranglehold is loosening and we can all breath again and fighters that did not make their name on some damn reality show can make a decent living fighting again!!
Hey Adam: The resolution is a little too high on this pic. Think you could blur it up a little bit?

Totally, it’s going to be PRIDE all over again.
They’ll probably even have Fedor fight Cro Cop again.

Feedback?
Hey Nick,
What forum is that in?
Nick – I hope that’s all true. Cindy is usually a credible source. That one post may save me from going on anti-depressants.
Zack, I can personally attest that Cindy Ortiz communicates regularly with Dana White. Her post is legit.
Is that Mach in the orange jumper? If so is that Kid between him and Mirko?
nvm I see mach on the other side of the pic.

Hopefully everyone settles down with the heart attacks now.

Buddha that is Caol Uno in the tracksuit. But yes, next to him is kid.
Cro Cop is done. Great fighter to watch back in the day, but no more. UFC was too much for him.
I have lost respect for CroCop.
“I have lost respect for CroCop.”
Curious, why?

Maybe because he stole Joe Rogan’s black party shirt?
“Maybe because he stole Joe Rogan’s black party shirt?”
now that’s a good point.
Grape makes some excellent points. If DW meant to be quoted he would have used more colorful language.
good on you grape. Cindy’s version sounds like Homer Simpson’s re-telling of a cocktail party after a few constitutionals
Is that Sakuraba next to CC and if my memory serves me correct, isn’t that the guy from Sin City on the far right , minus the orange skin condition.
Hooray!
In more ways than one, I’m slowly growing tired of the UFC.
its nice to have something new on the table.
Trust the Japanese to come up with gay names… first Pride now Dreams??? wtf?
hardcore fighting championships seems gay as well, and ultimate and extreme adjectives sound juvenile.
*adverbs
extreme, hardcore and ultimate could go either way… but Pride??? come on… and Dream?
#29
How is Pride and Dreams ‘gay’?
And how is it ‘Ultimate’ fighting when they don’t allow soccor kicks??
Dude you really dont know why Pride sounds gay?
ANd I dont care enough about the UFC to argue that point with you.
