Takanori Gomi to face Duane Ludwig at World Victory Road

MMAWeekly.com is reporting that upstart MMA promotion, World Victory Road has announced three extra fights for its inaugural show, Sengoku on March 5 in Tokyo, Japan.

One of the three bouts announced is a fight between recently signed Pride standout, Takanori Gomi and UFC veteran, Duane Ludwig.

Gomi has not fought since last February where he lost via gogoplata submission to Nick Diaz at Pride 33. That fight however was later ruled to be a no contest after Diaz was found guilty of taking marijuana.

Ludwig was rumored to be fighting on the Strikeforce card in February against Steve Berger but apparently he will pass up that fight so he can be in fighting shape for the World Victory Road event.

The other two bouts apparently set for Sengoku are, UFC and Bodog veteran, Nick Thompson against Fabricio Monteiro and Pancrase standout Ryo Kawamura against Brazillian Antonio Braga Neto.

My money is on Duane “Bang” Ludwig. I do not see him losing this fight. I think Gomi will get KTFO on 3/5/08. You heard it here first.

too bad we will never see if gomi can handle some real competition.

i saw the fight he had with bj penn. boy did bj do a number on him. and gomi’s comment was that he was surprised how strong bj was.

it kinda makes you wonder, if he would have actually done well against top light weights in the UFC.
