EliteXC: “Street Certified” Weigh-In Results
The fighters for the EliteXC: “Street Certified” card successfully made weight last night at a Coral Gables, FL Holiday Inn. The event itself will take place at Miami’s BankUnited Center with a main event featuring internet-star Kimbo Slice squaring off against MMA vet “Tank” Abbott. ProElite.com will be airing the preliminary card starting at 7:30pm ET, the main card will be aired on Showtime at 10:00pm ET/PT.

well… he weighed in at 204.5 so…. there have times when the Fight Finder, which is run by humans, was been incorrect. He has fought at HW before but that doesn’t necessarily mean he weighed the max 265.

Kimbo’s entire entourage is decked out in “Reality Kings” logos. Having only a notion of what that was about, I googled it and confirmed my suspicion: a subscription porn site.
I’m sorry if this has already been debated to death, but can someone answer for me if this is standard for MMA fighters? Condom Depot on a fighter’s shorts is one thing, but advertising XXX movies really demonstrates that the MMA wants to be a marginalized classless industry (far from a respected sport). Sure, a card titled “Street Certified” is probably going to be a much more likely place to see an affinity for all things gutter-oriented, but that doesn’t make it right.
Sometimes I wonder, “Why aren’t I more open about being an MMA fan?” Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me Kimbo. (this coming from an anti-racist fan who supports Kimbo’s eventual professionalism)

Through the Noke/Smith KO, I’d say this card has been fantastic. Who cares that the headliner is a circus. EliteXC has some entertaining fighters in the stable.
