s_46785ae51341b0c35a408f3851096b4a2.jpgFast-rising featherweight Wilson Reis has agreed to a return appearance on EliteXC’s ShoXC series on April 5 against former UFC lightweight competitor Doug Evans, ProElite.com (SamCaplan.ProElite.com) has learned from a source close to Reis’ camp.

The bout will be contested at 140 pounds. A location for the event has not been finalized but the card will most likely take place in California.

Reis, 3-0, made his debut for the promotion on January 25 in Atlantic City at the Trump Taj Mahal, where he recorded a dominant victory over former Division I wrestler Zach Makovsky. Reis, who trains out of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu United in Jenkintown, PA under Lloyd Irvin black belt Jared Weiner, submitted Makovsky at 1:15 of round 2.

Reis’ previous wins took place in Ed Hsu’s Combat in the Cage promotion where he defeated Baba Shegeyasu via unanimous decision in his pro debut on July 28 and submitted Diego Jimenez at 2:00 of round 1 on October 26.

Wow, Doug Evans is cutting down to 140lbs. that seems like an awful lot of weight, he never seemd like he wasn’t fit at 155lbs.

Great opportunity for Reis! Did you hear anything about Makowski or Lineberger getting new fights?

Brent, last I heard, Brett wasn’t immediately picked up by EliteXC after his ShoXC fight in A.C. As for Matt, I heard he was picked up and that they wanted to use him on the March 21 card in Chumash but that the timing wasn’t right with his schedule.

Dood I really hope that DOug does good at 140 because he looked very good when he fought Huerta in the UFC. I know his last fight in the UFC wasn’t good at all and I have alot of faith in Evans.

Doug Evans is going to do a lot of damage at 140 pounds. I look forward to watching him fight at his more natural weight.
