Yves Edwards to face K.J. Noons for EliteXC lightweight title on April 26th

According to the website of American Top Team, new EliteXC fighter and former number one lightweight in the world, Yves Edwards, will face EliteXC’s current 160 lbs. champion, K.J. Noons for the EliteXC lightweight title on April 26th in Hawaii.

Edwards is coming off of a brutal knockout victory over Edson Berto at EliteXC: Street Certified and seems to have rejuvenated his career since making the move to American Top Team.

Noons is coming off of the biggest win of his MMA career over Nick Diaz due to cut stoppage at EliteXC: Renegade last November. Surprising to everyone, Noons dominated the fight against Diaz, peppering him with better boxing and standup skills and stuffing Nick’s weak takedown attempts.

Edwards vs. Noons should be one of the best fights that EliteXC has put on during their short tenure in the MMA world.

This is awesome, KJ vs Yevs (go Yves!) and Diaz fighting on the same card! Hopefully Diaz pulls out a dominating victory and gets a shot at the belt again!

I would love to find out more about Moyses Gambin making $1 for his fight on the last EliteXC card? Sam, any comments from EliteXC management on this?

Diaz is the real champ? Last time I checked he was acting like a punk fingering the ring and shedding tears from behind two horribly swollen eyelids.. wouldnt say he is the real champ of anything he got his ass handed to him by Noons.

I saw Yves takes this fight

Great move by Yves Saturday night.

We train that all the time. not the knee, but defending and letting go of the single leg so it doesn’t happen, lol.

That was the first time I’ve actually seen it work and it was awesome!

    Should be an exciting fight.

Edwards was impressive against Berto. Either the best or second best fight of the night, depending on how you rate Smith’s fight.
