The Beast is Back

Lost in the shuffle is the fact that former Chicago Bears offensive lineman Bob “The Beast” Sapp is slated to return to MMA this Saturday during Strikeforce’s show at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Wash.

Sapp will fight Jan “The Giant” Nortje on the card’s main event. The show will be televised on HDNet starting at 10:30 p.m. ET.

Below are some quick Sapp videos that recently appeared on ESPN along with the entire card for this Saturday.

The complete card…

- Bob Sapp vs. Jan “The Giant” Nortje
- Maurice Smith vs. Rick Roufus
- Brad Blackburn vs. Ray Perales
- Steve Berger vs. Eddy Ellis
- Jorge Masvidal vs. Ryan Healy
- Andrew Pedersen vs. Mychal Clark
- Zach Skinner vs. Scott Shaffer
- Nathan Coy vs. Chris Davis
- Joe Riggs vs. Cory Devela

Seeing Sapp fight again will be interesting. Also, Smith vs. Roufus is very intriguing. And I’m always entertained whenever Masvidal and Riggs compete. I know some of the other matchups may not offer a lot in the way of name recognition, but Strikeforce excels at matchmaking and my belief is that this will be a sleeper card.

It’s a sleeper alright. Roufus AND Riggs on the same card? that’s what I’ll be doing sleeping. The UFC must seem like OZ to those guys from that far down on the food chain .
And Sapp? I guess the Washington state AC doesn’t drug test…

sapp should NOT be lifting weights. dude we know you are strong. he should be grappling 24/7 and working on his takedowns. argh all the talent in the world and training like a strongman.

please join ATT sapp, i wanna see you take yur career seriously !

It’s not “lost in the shuffle,” it’s just an awful card that no one is paying attention to and the exact opposite of what Strikeforce should be doing if they want to grow.

I wish I had HDNet and whatnot.

After watching both videos the next line down reads.

Initially, I thought you were making a reference to Bob “Sapp Time” Sapp!

    LOL!
