Video: Bas Rutten shows one of the stars of “Never Back Down” how submissions are done

It is a very slow news day thus far so I apologize for the lack of posts. However, things should pick up soon because UFC 82 is set to take place this Saturday and I’m also working on a couple of scoops. Stayed tuned for more posts today.

In the meantime, check out this video of Bas Rutten going over submission holds with Cam Gigandet, one of the stars of the movie “Never Back Down,” which opens in theaters on March 14.

I’m looking forward to the movie. Hopefully it will be the first of many MMA-involved movies to come. Although the premises of it sound cheesy, at least they’re actually showcasing technique.

The bad part of the movie is that it appears to be about unsanctioned brawls at high school parties. That’s worse than Rio Heroes for the sport by 300 miles.

Bas Rutten was polite when watching the movie with Cam Gigandet (actor).

    What Bas was really thinking:

“I can’t believe….. Djimon Hounsou …. Oscar Award nominee’…. is…. in this piece of shit?”

It’s fun to watch Bas demonstrate. Maybe Kimbo has a ground game after all.

This is a sign of dark days. Horrible message being sent out with this one. Karate Kid meets The Fast and the Furious, everyone prepare for the backlash and news reports of Backyard matches with injuries and How MMA glorifies such behavior as “One of the sports biggest stars was a former backyard brawler.”- Uninformed news reporter
