5 Oz. of Pain sponsored fighter LeVon Maynard armbars Jay R. Palmer (video)
Here’s the fight video from this past weekend of Five Ounces Of Pain sponsored fighter LeVon Maynard making quick work of his opponent, Jay R. Palmer, of SuperBrawl fame. And does he look good in that tee shirt or what? Damn! Congrats, LeVon!

nice job…
great fighter..
that was beautiful..
what was his first win?? a sub?? decision?? TKO??
Well, the details of that fight really come through when you’re not scribbling notes about the play by play. His first victory was a TKO in round two.
Leyvonnnnnnnnn Manyarrrrrddddd
sounds good
What made 5 oz decide to make him the first sponsored fighter?
Armbar looked great, nice transition on it. When he was throwing up that left arm to guard the back/side of his head it left him completely open for a grab.
nice free mma, i wanna see more. good fight
Hey Tanner, you can read more about it here:

Thanks Matt.
Patrick, i agree, that armbar technique was sweet.
Love the Carl Lewis fade!
Jay R. was rockin that same hair-do in his Super Brawl hayday back in 96/97.
great fight for Levon. I’m proud of his performance during this fight. He had a great transition into the armbar for the finish. I wish him the best of luck for his future in MMA.
LeVon’s ‘stache rules. It rivals Mazzagatti’s.
It kinda reminds me of Eddie Murphy from beverly hills cop.
the sum of the aesthetics of that video is pretty much Beverly Hills Cop
I only watched it because it said “armbar” and I am all over any video with jiu-jitsu.
One problem though, learn to respect your opponent. Dancing around like an idiot takes away from the win. That is about the worst post fight dance I have ever seen.
Let me guess, I will be flamed for this comment. Why don’t you address dancing around like an idiot instead of me? How about that? Ever see a Gracie dance around like an idiot after a win? Standing there like a complete badass is a lot more impressive if you ask me.
Solid armbar though. I will give him that. I don’t respect his opponent though.
I think he was just proud of himself for the win.
Alot of fighters now a days have their things that they do after a fight. It’s like a reward for yourself for winning. I think its cool.
He seemed very respectful of his opponent after his win. He went up and shook his hand and I’m sure they were both grateful for the opportunity to fight in the event.
Jiu-Jitsu Guy, let Buck Nasty and Silky Johnson keep the Player Hater of the Year award to themselves.
Contrary to what is clearly an unnecesary, over-pessimistic perception from a two minute or so video, LeVon always have shown a great deal of respect towards his opponents. His post-fight, and at times, pre-fight dancing could hardly be classified as idiotic, it is in fact a signature move that a whole lot of people enjoy and look forward to in any event with his name on the card. Only those who failed to get off their high horse are usually the ones who take less enjoyment from such display of a well-deserved celebration.
Chekosa, LOL! Well said. LeVon is without question one of the classiest fighters I’ve met — which says a lot because I’ve yet to have a bad experience with a fighter.
I wouldn’t worry too much about JJG, he’s a resident hater of all things MMA that aren’t related to the Gracie family.
But the fact that LeVon has his first hater is proof positive that he’s moving up in the MMA world. The haters don’t hate until you start to encounter success.
so giving his opponent not one but two hugs and then shaking hands with their corner is not showing respect?
yo JJGuy..
Anderson Silva dances around after he wins.. he’s p4p the best fighter in the world..
as far as i’m concerned.. if you just beat somebody’s ass in the ring.. you can do whatever the hell you want afterwards..
oh, and something to shoot for, JJG… how about you leave ONE post, i repeat, ONE post on this site that doesn’t mention a Gracie.. I’ve got nothing against the Gracie family and personally, i think every last one of em’s a good fighter.. but come on..
P.S.- I’m SOOOO glad you periodically post on this website, JJG.. because i know every time i read one of your comments.. i’m going to be laughing soo hard at it.. and the ones that follow.. you’re the perfect example of a fighter basher.. because know matter how much, or how beautifully they win.. you still hate on them.. keep up the good work..
hahaha..
Silky Johnson to JJGuy: “Hate Hate Hate Hate Hate! I hate the air you breath… I hate you. I hate you. I hate you. I don’t even know you, but I hate you. I hate your guts. I hope all the bad things in life happen to you and only to you. Now let me take a sip of my drink that I know someone spit in…”
My baby Levon Keep up the great work!
How they say it “Kick Ass! ”
Just like me……….
That 5 oz feel like tons ……
and the pain feel close to death.
Just show them Levon in ring and if they don’t know they need to ask somebody.
