i wish i knew how it was possible to the ground and get an armbar in 16 seconds.. i have to see a clip of that fight.. to get armbarred in that little time means you’re the worst MMA fighter..

nice to see neer back in action and on the winning side..
it just sucks to see din lose..

i’m sooo glad Tommy Speer got KTFO’d.. ever since he KO’d sotiro on the show.. i’ve hated him.. i just feel that should’ve never happened.. so i was extatic when he lost to mac danzing.. but to see him knocked silly tonight.. was great..

sooo glad Guida picked up a “W”..

i’m pretty much happy about how all the fights turned out..
except i would’ve loved to see j-lau upset the crowd.. and he came close..

That was slick by Marcus and yes the guy was definitely out of his league.

Din fought pretty good, but I think that kick really hurt his knee, he just wasn’t the same after that.

Speer looked like a deer in the headlights, Johnson was way to quick for him.

Guida was by far the most popular fighter of the night, cheers wise.

The crowd was much more in favor of Joe than kenny.

Pretty awesome night…day…day and night, lol.

pretty insane night of fights. it’s a damn good thing i’m not a betting man, cus i’d be sleeping in a ditch tonight.

lauzon looked so good in the first. i thought he had a chance. was a nice touch when he walked over to the camera to make sure they got a shot of his head cut. he knew dorks like us would be debating that they weren’t illegal shots tomorrow.

really happy for maynard. i think he’s got alot of promise, and i loved his honesty (saying he’s a long way from a title shot). that doesn’t happen often with all the posturing guys do.

houston houston houston… what’s there to say. i fell in love with him after those first two wins (who didnt), but the way he lost the last two, and more importantly, the way he reacted to them, doesn’t sit too well with me. he needs to accept them and reevaluate, not act like he got robbed. but i suppose that could be a “heat of the moment” type thing. really “classy” on the part of “the sandman” to offer to fight him in the parking lot. ugh.

good to hear guida rebounded with a win. hopefully i can find a clip.

definitely thought diaz was done for. can’t say i’m a huge fan, but his submission game is ridiculous.

that speer knockout made me sad. his comments after the tuf finale about really wanting to win, so he could support his family, really made me wanna pull for him. that ko was just brutal, the way he just crumpled. will definitely be trying to dig up some footage of anthony johnson tomorrow.

where do we go from here? personally, i’d like to see boetsch fight alexander (or either of them go to the wec), diaz rematch manny, and maybe see maynard step up and fight a guy like huerta

    Florian v. Huerta, imo.

  • woooburn says:

yeah, probably… but it almost seems to me with edgar losing, that they’re already planning to give the next shot to florian. plus, i think they wanna give huerta one more fight before he’s considered title shot. i don’t know if see either guy beating bj (once he beats “the muscle shark”) regardless, florian v huerta would definitely mean fireworks.

and as much as the ending of karo’s fight sucked (for him), at least it clears up the contender situation in that division for a while.

  • Brnadt says:

I want to see Lauzon and Florian again, because the ending wasn’t spectacular at all. Florian should have gone for a submission instead of getting the win by stalemate by sitting on Lauzon until he gave up. Oh well.

Florian vs Huerta would be an exciting fight IMO. But does the winner face the Penn/Sherk winner?

  • Rich S. says:

    i’ll agree w/ #7..
i mean, props to florian for getting mount 3 times.. but.. those shots weren’t effective at all.. it’s just.. j-lau couldn’t get out..
you’re right in saying that florian should’ve gone for a sub..
i mean, j-lau owned kenny with the subs last night..

  • Rich S. says:

and i’m glad with how herb ref’d that fight..
no more early stoppages for him..
i bet he reached a peak in death threats in the mail.. and decided to change his ways..

  • Chuck says:

j-lau OWNED kenny with the subs ??? he went for 2 heel hooks …. Kenny got outta BOTH …. Kenny is way too much for j-lau, at the moment …
and since when is sitting on someones chest and pounding their head into the canvas any different from subbing a guy ? j-lau couldn’t get out of the mount, had Kenny gone for the sub, that would have given j-lau an oppurtunity to escape …. Kenny FINISHES FIGHTS … a finish is a finish

MAJOR PROP’s to diaz …. LOVE THIS KID … took one HECK of a beating, hung in there, and SUBBED “batman” … and HOW PROUD is Nick of his little brother …. thanks to the UFC for letting Nick back in the building

LOVED the double finger/flex move … and the ever increasing “post fight analysis/suggestion” from NATE … when asked to “talk us thru the end of the fight” … against Alvin Robinson and AGAIN, last nite, after Tri-choking “batman” …. Nate says (reffering to his opponents mistake) … “yup, this is wehre i lock it up” … “he lifted me to slam and that just tightened it up …. “shouldn’t have done that”

    My take:

I’m glad Houston got his ass kicked. That was humiliating and it was a legit stoppage by the ref. He got owned again. I’m glad because he celebrated in an insulting manner when he got his knockouts. He got what he deserved. Also, does he look natural? He looks pumped up on roids or something. Something about him is not natural.

Nate is so sick it it unreal. Triangle choke, so sweet. He rules and you all know it.

Karo stoppage was too early, but can’t blame the ref for that. Tough position to be in.

Main event was a borefest and I didn’t care at all about it because the other fights were more interesting. My night was complete within 10 seconds of the event starting because Houston was on his back after one punch. LOL.
