Sadly, I usually watch by myself...I can't stand to watch with half-wits or dilettantes.

That makes sense. Who the hell watches the UFC by their lonesome self without a group of friends and a case of bear or 8 shots of liquor? =)

John Philapavage and I were talking about how ratings are misleading for sports anymore. What do many sports fans do when they watch a highly anticipated event? They get together in groups or they go out to a bar and they aren't accounted for. Nielsen ratings for any show are extremely vague estimated numbers and should be taken with a grain of salt anyways.

I don't watch Spike that much unless it's a UFC broadcast. Was there much advertisement/publicity in advance?

This story is very depressing for two reasons.
1. That a lineup like this show had was not appreciated by enough people, If a card like that doesn't sell mma, nothing will. makes you wonder if the sport has peaked already.
2. That the pure crap that Elitexc and Strikeforce will put on will probably be seen by more people by accident than spike drew for their best fight card ever. makes you wonder why the UFC even bother to telecast on spike.
