Nate should get a break: after all, he is certifiably retarded. He has come a long way since learning to use Velcro shoes (nearly 6 years to graduate to lace-ups) and can even read an entire pop-up book all by himself. Progress of Nate’s education are clearly seen in TUF when he scrawls 2, 0 and 9 everywhere demonstrating the pride he had memorizing his own area code. Unfortunately, he cannot yet dial his own phone number as he has failed to commit the remaining seven digits to memory. The Diaz brothers also dominated most events at the ’07 Special Olympics.

im not sure he WANTS to put on much more muscle. he’s fighting tall at a low weight class as it is, and it looks like he probably doesn’t cut any weight right now which gives him a cardio advantage- which might explain why he is able to hang in there with much more ripped guys like Maynard and Pellegrin until they gas enough for him to get the submission.
it’s not like he’s so young that he can’t physically build the muscle yet, he’s 22 after all. he’s just skinny because they choose not to do much weight work in Cesar’s camp. their ethic seems to be technique and cardio over power.

2 points … (and i’m a HUGE fan of Nate)

1 … Diaz is “under-developed” physically, like # 7 revjames13 Says, HOWEVER … his BJJ is “sick” … that kid is a phenom

2 … he probalby will, and does, get man-handled/thrown around because of this, but MAN, watch-out when this kid grows into his frame. alittle more muscle on this kid and some steady standup (which we haven’t seen yet) and he WILL be a TERROR !!! (heck, he already is, but i’m a big fan of his)

Tyson by tko or stoppage by cuts from gnp , he would muscle him down like Kurt did but he wont gas. Hell Griffin trains with better fighters then Diaz , what makes yall think he could possible submit Griffin?

Regardless if Griffin goes too deciscion he dont matter, he comes too fight and pushes a fast pace and has great scrambles

Griffin gets too much credit..

every one of his victories are controversial if you ask me:

Griffin vs. Guida – i could’ve sworn Guida had the victory, he pushed the pace, and had Griffin in trouble plenty of times..
Griffin vs. Tavares – although the action was back and forth, Tavares attempted to finish the fight plenty more times, he was on bottom, but he was in control
Griffin vs. Tibau – yea, Griffin won the standup, but Tibau took him down at will, whether Griffin got back up or not, takedowns are points, and Tibau should’ve had that fight.

if Griffin fought Diaz, it would go to the ground, Griffin would probably give a good lay n’ pray effort in the first round, then the bell would ring, the second round would start, it would go to the ground, and diaz would end up getting the armbar, or triangle..

that fight COULDN’T go any other way..

Diaz kind of amazes me. From the start he has struck me as an underdeveloped kid going in to fight against men. I keep thinking he’s going to get manhandled, yet he manages to hang in and pull off the submission. His ability to weather the storm and finish fights makes me think that in a few years (he’s only 22) he could be LW champ. He has to improve his striking quite a bit and put on some muscle, but his BJJ is top notch. When BJ Penn moves up to 170, Diaz may wind up the best submission artist in the division.

Diaz has been far more impressive than I expected him to be and he has shown the ability to take a beating and hang in for the submission, which will be more and more important as he moves up the competition. Unfortunately, his unrealistic fanatics think he could beat Fedor, lol.

And Maynard didn’t prove much to me. He out wrestled a guy that should be at 145, he looked freakin huge compared to Edgar.

F**kin’ right!! That’s a great fight. It would give Diaz a great oppurtunity to move up the rankings as well as expose Griffin for the mediocre fighter he is. Gray Maynard did the same thing to Frankie Edgar this past week, now it’s Tyson’s turn.
