yeah randy i believe still has two fights left on his contract (4-fight contract) for the ufc.

everyone wants to see him fight fedor in a cage. randy would still be the underdog since he’s like 45 but he’s proven people wrong in most of his fights. shocking crazy upsets. who knows or sure what would happen, but both are game. this would be much bigger than chuck vs wanderlai or loudmouth kurt angle in some grappling match. randy’s a much better grappler altogether than angle is despite his collegiate and olympic experience.

#1, #2, #3 um… who dosn’t know that he’s under contract? and how can Randy mentioning it do anything to his court case?. Isn’t the despute over completing his contract with the UFC, what that involves and when the contract expires rather than if he is under contract right now, I didn’t think that fact was in despute. If it was its not now.

What sort of grappling match would this be?.

In the long run it will prove to be a mistake. His fighting career has been stalled, and it’s also affected his ability to otherwise participate in MMA. I don’t wish him ill, but this whole fight with the UFC looks more and more like a tantrum gone way out of bounds.

Anything he says that contradicts his legal theories or the positions he’s taken during depositions or other discovery will be used like a stick to smack him about the head and shoulders. His lawyers should tell him to dummy up.

I am talking about every interview he has done since October including what he typed on his blog that was taken down after 12 hours. You would think the UFC has a game plan on several scenarios for various legal maneuvers and I am certain ever interview he does feeds one or several routes they plan on taking. You would think his Lawyers would have made it clear to never answer a question that involves the UFC or futures plans that involve conflicts with the UFC. I am not a lawyer but one would think the less he talks the better.

I thought about the implications of Couture’s statement, too. I could be mistaken, but I think Couture’s theory is that his contract lasts for a specific term (expires this year, I think), whereas UFC claims he is obliged to fight several more times regardless of how long it takes. There may not be an inconsistency between Couture’s statement and his legal position. That having been said, it is unwise to comment on such things while a lawsuit is pending.

After his setback over the IFL issue, I wonder if there have been any settlement discussions.
