(Video) FOX News talks MMA on CBS

April 11, 2008 by Sam Caplan

I was looking for video of some very critical comments that former “A Current Affair” and current “O’Reilly Factor” host Bill O’Reilly made about CBS’ decision to televise mixed martial arts.

I’ve yet to find that video but Mike Straka of FoxNews.com’s “Fight Game” webcast was a guest recently on “Fox & Friends” and discussed whether MMA can be a viable entity on primetime network television.

I apologise America, but I hate your television.

If you type “Spotlight on CBS” into FOX News’ video search engine, you’ll get the O’Reilly clip.

You know what they say, there is no such thing as bad publicity.

“I apologise America, but I hate your television.”

First of all, nice spelling. Second, STFU and go away. We don’t like you either tool.

No reason to apologize in this case because you’ve just witnessed the absolute travesty that is Morning Television. The most annoying news people jacked up on coffee loving the sound of their own voice and interrupting the living sh*t out of everyone.

Usually people that have jobs… naturally avoid this disturbing phenomena.

“I apologise America, but I hate your television.”

Well, it certainly doesn’t compare to quality TV like The West Enders or Dream Team.

Don’t worry Sam, you’re only apologizing to the Red States…and no one gives a crap about them ;)

I know morning television is terrible everywhere but even during the commericals during UFN 13 i wanted to cap a bitch.

Does anyone seriously eat that fucking burger that was more wet than the drink it was getting served with. That shit made me sick to look at.

Not to get too far off topic but, the best line in that video was “Prime time tv without the prime time players…” (or something to that effect). I think this is true with most promotions other than the UFC and is the main challenge of any promotion. Will MMA on network TV work? I think so, just not until some more fighters leave the UFC or other promotions find a way to get their fighters names out there…

About as bad as a nice fried basket of fish and chips eh Sam?

Next time you watch shows like O’Reilly, take some notes on the advertisements. The ones I see for the cable infotainment shows have to do with prescription medications for stuff like heartburn, Cialis or other EDS drugs, reverse mortgages on your home, etc. They aren’t selling product to the same demographic as Spike/UFC. “Hope I die before I get old.”

Sure if you removed the fish and chips and just started chugging what remained in the basket.

    JJG,
maybe you should change your name to “Jiu-Jitsu Guy STFU”…
seeing as how STFU seems to be your favorite acronym..

PS- there i go chimin’ in again!
