Babalu is one of the best at 205. He’s some of the best in MMA. He went the distance with Fedor, nobody does that. He KILLED SHOGUN & Jermey Horn in the same night. He’s an ANIMAL. He dominated his last opponent in Affliction : Banned, and looked so complete that match. Even though he’s 31, his game has matured a lot after being release from UFC. He shouldn’t of been released & fined, just suspended or fined. He can very well be LHW of whatever orginization he fights in.

Babalu is the man. Heath showed up to the weigh-ins with a shirt of Babalu’s mugshot. I’m not saying what Babalu did was right, but that was just asking for trouble.

the second fight between Babalu and Chuck was probably Babalu’s worst fight in the UFC…and another reason why i can’t stand him…
we have a sub’ist chasing a world-class/world champion striker around the ring throwing terribly sloppy punches and just waiting to KTFO’d..
i know if i was a BJJ practitioner and i was facing a KO ARTIST like Liddell.. i wouldn’t chase the guy around and throw looping punches that didn’t land and would ultimately just make me tired.. i would do whatever i could to get the fight to the ground.. Babalu waited for that fight and the belt for years.. and he just completely threw it away.. i know sometimes fighters just have bad fights [Penn/Stevenson, Loiseau/Franklin, Larson/Condit..you know.. they do sooo good and then get owned in their title fight] but.. that was just stupid of Babalu..

Babalu’s soccer kick was totally legal. It is a fighter’s job to use every legal technique they can to damage their opponent until the referee stops them, that’s all Babalu did. Fighters deliver extra blows to stunned opponents in MMA all the time and no one says a damn thing because it’s the ref’s job (and no one else’s) to stop the fight when one fighter cannot continue.

The Heath choke was ugly but actually was no longer than Penn’s extra hold of Pulver from the time the ref began shout for a break and Penn received no admonishment at all, much less a fine or ejection from the UFC. The only reason people cared was because the fight was so ridiculously bloody and Rogan made a big deal out of it. Frank Shamrock did something similar to Phil Baroni recently as well.
And frankly I could care less if he got in a fight on an indian casino or (lol) SPIT ON A BOUNCER.
BJ Penn was arrested after he punched a cop, Sean Sherk got arrested after a bar fight, liddell, tito, all these guys have been in fights in public, liddell and tito were just lucky enough not to get caught. I bet if you did background checks on MMA fighters you’d see a lot of such run-ins. It’s not that big a deal.

I used to be a big fan of his but after what he did at the end of the fight with David Heath…I dunno…just don’t care for the guy anymore.
