If you think White dosn’t trash talk or put Fedor down you’ve got your head in the sand (or you think the sun shines out of Dana’s…).
If Fedors profile is so low why is Dana constantly asked questions about Fedor? and who dosn’t know about Randys desire to fight Fedor to find out who is the true HW champ. Why would Fedor be worth so much money to sign?. Dana and others say that nobody cares about Fedor but North America and the UFC isn’t the world…remember.

Dana and others stop Fedor from fighting the top fighters! if it was up to Fedor he and Randy would have fought years ago as would Tim and Fedor. As soon as Tim was released what happened…he signed to fight Fedor. So think a little…who could Fedor of fought since the MURDER of Pride FC there arn’t to many options as far as free agents go. So blame exclusive contracts and MMA politics for that.
As for Lindland he is top ten (top 5 although middleweight) and he was a late replacment.
The Korean Hong Man Choi is a legit top K1 fighter (despite his size and illness). His size is his best asset.
Mark Hunt was K1 GP champ and beat crocop and Wanderlei Silva in MMA and was probably one of Fedors hardest challenges to date.
As for Coleman if he is not serious competition or well known why is he the main event in the UFC later this year?. I think you will find he is highly decorated, still popular and a bad match up for many.
Its just my opinion but both Mark Coleman and Mark Hunt would beat many top HW’s in the UFC (Kongo, Heath Herring would definatly strugle).

great interview, “love dana” for what he has done for the sport, imo if you are classified the hw king or overall lb for lb fighter in the world, you should have to fight nothing but top ten in your weight class or even an up and coming powerhouse, “not freakshows” which is not happening for fedor, he hasnt fought anyone of a true caliber fighter in years including mark coleman or mark hunt, who are 2 other fighters who your tuffers or newbies have never heard of..and come on (lindland looked like shit)he is a middleweight for god sake. as far as you and i ( true MMA fans) we know who they are, but lets be real mark coleman and mark hunt are not the cream of the crop!!!!!!!!

Saying that nobody cares about Fedor isn’t trash talking, imo. White didn’t call him weak or question his character or insult his mother. In context White was making the point that Fedor has been low profile and is unknown to many fans, especially fans who got into MMA in the last few years. I don’t think that’s controversial. Does your average 12 year old NFL fan know Joe Montana or Dan Marino? How about John Elway?

I’d have to go back and listen to the clip again, but I don’t think White said that Fedor hadn’t fought at all. I thought I heard him say that Fedor hadn’t had a serious fight, or words to that effect. My statement was certainly true with regard to Coleman and Hunt, since those fights were several years ago. And by the way, are either of them in the top 10? Not according to this blog. If Fedor is the reigning king of the MMA universe, shouldn’t he fight guys in the top ten? Then we can argue about Lindland and whether that was a serious fight. Is he in the top ten? How does he compare to those who are in the top ten? I don’t think there’s any legitimate argument about the Korean with the pituitary disorder.

#18 mike wolfe “White didn’t trash talk Fedor” …um yes he did. What do you call it when he says nobody cares about Fedor, that is disrespectful. He tried to sign Fedor and failed so now he tries to put him down.
“What misstatements did he make in the interview?” He kept saying Fedor hasn’t fought since 2005.
He fought 2006(Mark Coleman and Mark Hunt.), 2007(Matt Lindland.)and last time he fought it was already 2008 in some countries. Its also funny that you say “Fedor hasn’t had a serious fight in years” when Mark Coleman is headlinning a UFC event later this year.

Who wont watch Fedor vs Sylvia?.
You know why they let Tim go…because Tim wanted more money, Dana didn’t want to give it to him and he also couldn’t afford to have another AA undercard type incident for Tim’s last fight.
Dana saying that other organisations are “…like rats with cheese…” makes me think that he has just got his head up his own ass. He acts like MMA is his or that others are somehow stealing his idea (what a wanker!).
Dana you are a buisness man who took over a buisness and made it successful, not a MMA messiah. You didn’t start MMA and you wern’t even there when it was first taking off, I mean you never even fought in MMA. I hope that people can see through your marketing BS and realise money is your master.
The best thing for MMA would be if Fedor absolutely F*CKED Tim up, then every body in North America would say who the hell is that dude? and start watching more and more of other organisations promotions, just to take the UFC and Dana down off their high horses.
# 21 Queso “I see a day coming when the cross promotions are making big money, and the UFC will keep it’s fighters from fighting the other great fighters.” thats been happening for years. All big name UFC fighters are on exclusive contracts. The reason being that the UFC can’t afford to have any of their “great fighters” lose to other organisations fighters, because that would promote the other organisation greatly.

Dana White is an idiot. Nobody would care if we signed Fedor… ya, thats why he tried SO hard to sign him. He sounds like a jilted schoolboy. He says that his competition is losing money, and then blasts early critics who said he was losing money. He just doesn’t remember what he says from one moment to the next. I see a day coming when the cross promotions are making big money, and the UFC will keep it’s fighters from fighting the other great fighters.
