Nick Diaz to fight for DREAM on April 29?

April 18, 2008 by Sam Caplan

nick-diaz1.jpgGracieFighter.com has indicated that Nick Diaz could be involved with the next DREAM card set for April 29 in Saitama, Japan.

The site, which is owned and operated by Diaz’s trainer, Cesar Gracie, states that Diaz verbally agreed to a match against renowned competitive grappler-turned-mixed martial artist, Marcelo Garcia.

However, Diaz’s involvement on the show is now in question because the site claims Garcia has refused the fight and that there might not be enough time to secure a new opponent.

Neither DREAM or Garcia’s camp have publicly commented on this report.

In related news, it was also announced by ProElite.com earlier this week that Diaz is scheduled to fight on June 14 in Hawaii against Muhsin Corbbrey.

Diaz would oooooooooooown him, for sure.

    Really?

When was the last time Nick oooooooowned anyone?

I could have seen this going either way, but I think it was probably a good decision by Garcia to turn it down. He needs a couple more fights under his belt before taking on a very experienced fighter like Diaz.

You guys need help finding a different picture of Diaz? I know it’s a cool pic, but come on!

Can’t wait to see Diaz in Pride (er Dream) again (for the first time)… Hope he has many fights in Japan, his style should fight in really well there.

You call into question my comment but follow up with that?

Like YOU just implied, Diaz would completely dominate the fight.

    Ya’know… oooooooooown him.

I seriously doubt it. How is saying a fight could go either way implying that Diaz would dominate it?

I just think it is a possible loss in a young mma career for Garcia.

Why don’t you answer the question instead? When was the last time Diaz oooooooowned anyone?

What does it matter when the last time Diaz owned somebody was? It has no bearing on this fight.

It’s like saying, “Oh, no way Diaz will knock out Lawler, when was the last time he KOed somebody?”

Saying it was a smart decision by Garcia to turn down the fight and get some more bouts under his belt before taking on Diaz implies it would have been a one-sided beating.

No way would Garcia submit Diaz and on their feet, Diaz knocks him out.
