Posted by Adam MorganApparently Kimbo Slice is now officially “Street Certified” according to this poster and it looks like they will most definitely play off of Gina Carano’s stint on American Gladiators to hype her up. I, for one, am excited for this event. Let’s just hope it does the kind of numbers that CBS is looking for.

I’m kinda looking forward to this card… Might be fun to watch. No real “important” fights, but should be entertaining.

Even though all of these fighters are B,C, or G list fighters……. This is a really great card.
looks good..it’s to bad Ninja isn’t fighting but I like Villasenor..Baroni the King of gassing..better show up with some wind to get through the 2 round…

Ya, what a bunch of great fighters on this card, uhhhh, never thought when the day came that there would be live MMA on network TV that the first main event would have James Thompson…what a joke…

noice card.. of course.. with the exception of the main event.. just another opponent for Kimbo of which no one’s going to give him credit for..
but i was stoked about baroni/Rua.. even though.. the beating baroni would’ve gotten would’ve actually been SAD..yes, it would’ve be THAT BAD..
but Baroni/Smokin’ Joe.. idk.. this fight actually gives Baroni a chance.. and its a tossup.. because both guys have ALOT OF POWER.. and both have been KO’d a few times too.. so we know their chins might play a factor.. idk.. i like Villasenor.. you don’t F with that guy.. great MW fighter.. and.. you know.. Baroni.. eh..
Lawler/Smith.. ohhhh man.. i can’t wait for that.. i’ve said before that i have like 8 fighters tied for my 1st and 2nd favorite.. well.. Lawler’s one of em.. ever since i saw his fight with Lights Out Lytle.. i’ve loved the guy.. in a fan way, of course.. but Smith? he knows exactly how to make an exciting fight.. hell, look at Smith/Sell..
this whole card’s gonna be one big slugfest.. but.. i’m going with:

Then the title fight, I’m one of the biggest Scott Smith fans there is, but going off memory here, isn’t he 3-2 in his last 5 fights??? and not to mention 1-3 in his last 4 UFC fights….and he gets a title shot, I mean great for Scott Smith and thats the only fight on the card (besides seeing Carano but thats for other reasons) I’m intested in seeing….
Its a fabricated championship fight and a joke of a main event, SleezeXC is for Real!!!!
Make above for Scott Smith 1-3 in his UFC career as I believe he only had 4 UFC fights, with the amazing (one of my fav fights ever) KO of Sell as the only victory…
After Smith KO’s Lawler (hopefully) you know Gary Shaw will be claiming Smith is the #1 MW in the world….

The Natural was 2-3 in his last 5 fights before the big Tim title shot, no fights heavey weight. Scott Smiths title shot stands!

James Thompson? Ridiculous. There’s tougher cupcakes out there for EXC to throw at Kimbo… Why not Brett Rogers? I guess they gotta spread out their “talent” a little bit.
Lawler and Smith will be a good fight, besides the fact that its for a title.
I’ll be watching the event regardless.
I like EliteXC it is on the way to becoming a SOLID organization.
I think Rogers should be fighting Kimbo… Not to take anything away from Murphy but I am not sure if Rogers is the right choice for him to come off injury against.
Murphy takes out Rogers I will for sure eat my words!

Thompson just lost to Brett Rogers and he’s fighting in the main event? Kimbo needs some solid wins, but also some solid challenges. Bo Cantrell, Tank Abbot, & Ray Mercer it’s like c’mon. Give him Antonio Silva or Don Frye, can’t protect his record forever - everyone loses sooner or later.
I don’t care what anyone says. Elite XC just doesn’t have the competition level the UFC has. I’m definitely watching the card but just cause I don’t have anything else better to do unfortunately. The contender at the UFC would plow over Elite XC’s.
My predictions:
Kimbo over Thompson (tko of course)
Lawler over Smith (definite knockout)
Carano over Young (tko seeing their both thai fighters)
Joey over Scott (once again knockout)
Brett over Jon (and sub.. just kidding tko)

You’re way off. Kaitlin Young is going to bring it against Gina. That girl is fuckin’ beast!! I actually expect Gina to try to take her down, just to avoid messing up that pretty face.

You have to remember….the UFC has been around since the 90’s. Elite is what ……a year old?
Give Elite 5 or so years and I bet the competition level will easily be creeping up on the UFC. They just can’t put all of their best fighters against each other immediately. They have to build up all of the promising fighters so they can get a following and experience.
It just doesn’t make since, business wise, to take their 2-0 promising stand up fighter against a BJJ black belt with 20 or so fights. It makes no sense at all for Elite to do that. Decisions like that will make short work of EliteXC.
This will be an entertaining card and I am definitely looking forward to it. Gary Shaw is putting on a show that should bring people back to the TV to watch the next. Especially those not all that familiar with MMA.

they’re making their road to build Kimbo up a little too obvious.. i mean.. not only are they giving Kimbo a guy that lost his last two fights.. but.. they’re giving him a guy who’s been KO’d so many times it’s not even funny.. i mean.. Colossus’ odds in this one are a Miracle Punch.. or some otherworldly takedown UD or something.. idk.. i’m not liking Colossus’ chances..
How do you get “Street Certified”? Does it require going to a notary public?
I don’t know if I would say this is “better” than UFC 85, but it sure looks like more fun and it is free.
