UFC expands TUF 7 Finale card

April 24, 2008 by Michael Huckaby

The UFC on Thursday added four more official bouts to it’s June 21st The Ultimate Fighter 7 Finale show.  Joining previously announced matches Evan Tanner vs Kendall Grove and Diego Sanchez vs Luigi Fioravanti are:

  • Spencer Fisher vs Jeremy Stephens
  • Jeremy Horn vs Dean Lister
  • Drew McFedries vs Marvin Eastman
  • Josh Burkman vs Dustin Hazelett

It should be noted that outside of Fisher vs Stephens the other three fights will be on the undercard that evening.  Of course a couple of these fights had previously been rumored back as far as three weeks ago but Horn vs Lister is new to me.  Many figured after losing three of his last four fights that Jeremy Horn was about to call it a career and turn to training but he’s accepted another dangerous challenge considering Lister’s pedigree and the fact Horn has been submitted in his previous two fights.

Eastman vs McFedries was originally an anticipated bout for last October’s UFC 77 card but McFedries had to pull out with a staph infection.

Jeremy Horn needs to retire. it might sound impressive to have 100+ fights, but that has to fuck up your body. He’s probaly got so much long term damage. If you think about it a fighter that has 100 non-title fights that go the distance sums up to 15×100=1500 minutes which is like 25 hours. Think about it..100+ fights of going all out.

same to vernon white and dan severn.

I think it would be a nice thing for this show, since it’s the middleweight TUF, that after his fight Horn go into the UFC HOF. Guy has done tons in the sport and he should be recognized for it imo.
