I know he had a lot of scar tissue removed after the Noons fight, but it is smart not to risk losing him after fighting so close to the exc show. If he had already fought a couple times and shown that the problem was greatly diminished, maybe it would be a different story. Just let him fight in a dream show after the exc card.
