Kimbo Slice EliteXC: Primetime Commercials

May 20, 2008 by Adam Morgan

A couple of brand new advertisements for the upcoming EliteXC: Primetime card on May 31. The first one features Kimbo as “Detective Slice.” Why? I couldn’t even begin to tell you. The second, which can be found after the jump, features Kimbo reminiscing with his mother. They’re both pretty entertaining and hopefully they hit the airwaves soon because I don’t know if EliteXC has noticed or not, but May 31 is rapidly approaching.

Why? Its not too difficult to figure out, CBS has all of those CSI shows so they’re basically saying he doesn’t fight bad guys/crime like a lot of other CBS characters.

Second, they’re not going to start using up their ad money two weeks out form the show, they’ll hit it heavy next week. Its not like if someone saw a commercial 2 or 3 weeks before the show, they’re going to remember when it’s on if they’re just a regular CBS watcher/casual viewer.

What are you talking about? TV stations pound the hell with ads for their own shows weeks and weeks in advance. And I don’t think EliteXC is paying CBS for its own ad time…

Yeah, I see tv ads for stuff thats weeks and weeks in advance.

this ad says he doesn’t fight crime but he fights the best in mma. HaHa very funny (BO, TANK, AND NOW JAMES GLASSJAW THOMPSON)

While the scripted stuff is pretty cheesy, the UFC could def. learn a thing or two from these promos. If the production quality is anything approaching what the CBS people have done with the motion graphics for the ads this is going to be an awesome show. For better or worse, MMA is going to be a different world on June 1.

thumbs up! just for being different

I mean how many times can we watch the same type of promo hyping up a fight from local to national there pretty much all the same

Come people don’t take you or your sport so seriously

Well it’s certainly not the A-typical “gladiator” promo we’re so sick of seeing.

Mike Ringer, i think you should look up the meaning of “atypical” :D
