It's off topic, but I've read some blogs, including one for Fox, that appear to be written for readers unfamiliar with MMA. It's galling to read quotes from Shaw suggesting that EliteXC represents MMA and hyping Kimbo. I'm really conflicted about the upcoming CBS broadcast. On one hand, I want it to succeed for the benefit of the sport. On the other hand, I don't want newcomers to think that Elite/Shaw/Kimbo represent the best of what the sport offers.

Zuffa should have pitted the Pulver/ Faber fight up against Elite XC. I am pretty sure that the real fans would have tuned in to WEC instead of the other garbage. I would have laughed my ass off as Gary Shaw would be crying in the corner!!!

I figured the Chuck tributes were a direct response to the Elite ads. If I had to guess, I'd say not a lot of money changed hands for ads. But it was weird, like Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee contradicting one another, one after each.
I'll record the Chuck shows for later consumption and watch Elite, so . . . I guess the adverts were wasted on me.

re: the EliteXC spot, Sumner Redstone owns both CBS and Viacom/Spike so it's just money from one (deep) pocket into the other I suppose... still, UFC couldn't have loved it...
