Here’s a press release that was just released by Affliction to announce a press conference this Thursday, June 5 in New York involving none other than Donald Trump:

WHY: To announce a partnership between Affliction and Donald J. Trump, who will outline his involvement with Affliction and “Affliction Banned,” the star studded mixed-martial-arts show July 19th 2008 on pay-per-view television, featuring the return of Russian combat fighting icon Fedor Emelianenko at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
“Affliction Banned” will be distributed on Pay-Per-View and air live (9 PM/ET, 6 PM/PT) on cable and satellite viewing in the USA and Canada via iN DEMAND, TVN, Shaw Communications, Viewer’s Choice Canada, DirecTV, DISH Network, Bell ExpressVue and Star Choice for a suggested retail price of $39.95. The telecast will be available in both standard and high definition television.
Tickets for “Affliction Banned,” ranging between $50.00 and $1,000.00, are on sale at the Honda Center box office and also online at Ticketmaster.com.

No surprise here yet, unless Tito DOESN’T end up announcing his deal or affiliation with Affliction . The Donald liked Tito on the show and said so.
This sounds good, finally a viable home for top talent when discarded and disrespected by UFC.
Trump knows how to make things work. Jenna’s got some clout as wel,l so once Tito is in things will get even more interesting.

Not sure why Tito would sign with Affliction. He does have a competing clothing line. Bottom line for Tito is always the $$ and something tells me that Affliction wouldn’t be approving of him not wearing their clothing in a fight. He also just stated that of all the offers he’s received so far, the UFC’s is still the best with the most $$.

its pretty strange with him and affliciton…word circled behind the scenes a bit…then blogs starting leaking things…a few fighters have said a few things…
we keep hearing he is signing soon and then nothing comes of it. Maybe the UFC is about to pull him back? Who knows but you would think we would know for sure sooner than later.
i can hear it now, Dana ” YOUR FIRED”. in all seriousness though, i can see this affliction thing panning out the way the ufc and pride did, in a few years affliction buys out the ufc and dismantles it. hopefully not but it sure would be interesting… see ya elitexc… unless, hmmmm… what if there ends up being no exclusivity between the other orgs. like in the ufc…. cant wait to see what happens
