Does “Quick Stoppage” Dan Miragliotta strike again?

If The Fixer thinks that punches that don’t hurt shouldn’t stop a fight, why did he stop the fight when Vera was blocking most of Werdum’s punches?

    18. Spiking an opponent to the canvas on his head or neck.
Foul Number 18 in the UFC rulebook. That piledriver is illegal in the UFC. Yet no one called that. That was BS and the Great is a great cheater.

After Thiago brutally destroyed Hughes, GSP’s win against him doesn’t look too impressive now, huh, Sam?

i’m amazed by the results i just saw..
    Thiago got a quick finish?!
i didn’t think Bisping would get the win THAT fast!
REALLY glad to see swick win..
and i’m EXTREMELY glad to see Nate lose!!
but my boy, Vera… lost?? TKO??? NOOOOOOOO!!! he was supposed to do big things.. in the HW division.. all i know is anyone from Chute Box is extremely dangerous.. sooo.. obviously.. Fabricio’s gonna be dominant for a while..
Tavares got KO’d!!???!?!?! I’ve always thought he get’s too comfortable with the striking game and leaves his chin out there.. but i never thought he’d get caught!
i’m pretty glad to see Luiz Cane get a W because.. he’s pretty interesting..

    i haven’t seen it yet..
somebody fill me on.. on how crazy it actually was..

What are you talking about? GSP’s wins over Hughes were equally as impressive.

I didn’t see the fight, but Hughes apparently controlled Alves for enough of the first round to make it a split round, then his knee buckled early in the second round. GSP flat beat Hughes’ ass for 2 rounds AND came in at 170. GSP’s victory was still more impressive.

the knee buckled because of a brutal flying knee

Yes, but Sam used GSP’s win over Hughes as proof that GSP is the #1 P4P fighter in the world. After Thiago put up a similar ass whooping on Hughes, doesn’t it diminish the accomplishment of GSP? Is GSP that good, or is Hughes just dropped significantly in ability?

oh yeah… GSP beatdown Hughes in a fair fight.
    @ 170 lbs.

I have a lot of amatuer wrestling experience, and I swear not cutting those 4 lbs. was a huge advantage for Thiago
