EliteXC: Return of the King Quick Results
It was a night of quick endings at EliteXC: Return of the King with only one main card fight going past the first round. We’ll be updating the undercard results as they happen as they are set to stream on ProElite.com shortly. Here are the results:
Main Card:
- K.J. Noons def. Yves Edwards via TKO at :48 of round one
- Nick Diaz def. Muhsin Corbbrey via TKO at 3:59 of round three
- Murilo Rua def. Tony Bonello via TKO at 3:16 of round one
- Dave Herman def. Ron Waterman via TKO at 2:19 of round one
- Rafael Feijao def. Wayne Cole via TKO at 2:47 of round one
Undercard:
- P.J. Dean and Dean Lista fought to a majority draw
- Mike Aina def. Kaleo Kwan via unanimous decision
- Mark Oshiro def. Chris Willems via submission (triangle choke) at 2:12 of round one
- Lolohea Mahe was scheduled to fight Chris Bernard in a heavyweight matchup but apparently Bernard pulled out of the fight 30 minutes beforehand with a “sickness.” Lolohea looked extremely disappointed.
- Bubba McDaniel def. Kala Kolohe via submission (rear naked choke) at :41 of round one.
Since Kala Kolohe is the reigning ICON middleweight champion, Bubba McDaniel was offered to come back to Hawaii to headline an ICON card and fight Kolohe for the title seeing as how this was a non-title fight. McDaniel strangely said that he did not want the shot and wanted to see the title around a Hawaiian’s waist. I have a strong feeling that his management will think otherwise.

The only things I got out of this event was that Bonello is indeed a joke, Diaz bros are still classless, Bill Goldberg is an even a bigger moron then I thought he was (what was up with the because you can’t speak english comment and his blue berry muffin jokes?) , and that Elite reallly lacks professionalism.
I also don’t think Diaz should get a title shot because he looked poorly against an opponent that he outweighed by at least 20 lbs. If they did rematch I would choose KJ by brutal barrage…. Diaz looked really really slow and did his normal leaving his head wide open for shots routine…
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
YVES ACTUALLY LOST
I WOULD HAVE PUT A MILLION DOLLARS ON YVES WINNING..
someone.. plz.. tell me it was a mistake.. please..
Rich,
No, sir. No mistake. Yves got beat pretty badly.
He tagged KJ pretty good early but then came in too aggressive on the follow up and KJ flat decked his ass. finished it off with pretty devastating gnp
Diaz owned again.
that was great bubba said that he doesnt even want the icon belt.
nice.
that match really shows once again, baroni is brutal.
on another note, could someone please tell the elite announcer to just call it a low kick or an inside low kick and NOT this cup kick thing.
and i thought goldberg was bad interviewing, that other guy is worse.
lastly, why would they interview the guy who had has opponent withdraw due to sickness in the middle of the cage?
elite xc is painful to watch sometimes, but hey, an mma fix is an mma fix.
words can’t describe how mad i am right now.
Yves wins that fight 10 times outta 10.
this just doesn’t make sense.
ahhhhhhhhhhh.
i hate KJ.
i thought Yves would be the one.
i guess not.
someone will expose Noons.
i promise.
i mean, in the 45 sec. it lasted, Noons striking was sloppy.
he gets one punch. and then a boost of confidence. and it’s over.
oh man, i hope Diaz gets Noons again and performs greatly.
because, i just can’t stand him.
C-Pop,
I think they gave Lolohea the TV time because he was sort of promised that his fight was going to be on the ProElite.com stream so they wanted to give him at least some kind of exposure.
how could anyone care that strongly either way about Noons?
i would be excited to see a tag team wrestling match between the noons vs the diazs i guess.
Hey I feel ya Adam.
But that stuff comes off as awkward, and hinting that his opponent must be a puss makes elite look pretty sub par.
idk..
not only does Noons piss me off with all the stuff he says about Diaz [although, i know, Diaz fires back, but KJ starts it], but his face was knee deep in Yamasaki’s ass and he still wouldn’t stop hitting Yves..
“that match really shows once again, baroni is brutal.”
Lol… so true. The pride of HammerHouse
And wtf was up with Goldberg. That English speaking comment was about as classless as it gets. Surpasses Mauro’s pole comment as most tactless, imho.
