@#53 Anderson Silva does not walk around at 225 right now. There is no way he’s cutting forty pounds every time he fights, lol. If he fought at 205 regularly still sure, but i doubt he could bulk back up to his old fighting weight this quickly. I’m betting we see an Anderson Silva that is basically just not having to cut weight.

silva walks around at 225 so this could be a great fight but it’s also scary for him cause he has lost at 205 befor in pride and was tapped quick but i am looking forward to this fight

Anderson Silva is a pro, a real FIGHTER. He comes from the best camp in MMA. He has fought 205 before in Pride. Props to Silva for steppin up on behalf of Dana and the F.Brothers. Props to Silva for fighting for that money. Aye Dana I hope you cash him out $500,000 per fight. You should hire me as an advisor.

Historic! Andersen Silva will prove to every non-believers that he is the most dominating fighter there ever was and will be in the UFC. He will destroy Irvin and beat every light heavy weight contender in the division to become the LH Champ. Silva never under-estimate his opponents and has a second to non passion to destroy and win, no fighter currently has this menacing mentality! Beside the LH Division currently sucks, he will jolt it with life and excitement! It’s interesting and a true testament to Silva’s will how a lower weight champ has to fight a contender or two before a title shot, boxers (champs) can be promoted to fight higher or lower weight division champions. Dana is taking a risky route, gaining to lose what might well be his most valuable card (revenue generating). Luckily we are talking about Andersen Silva not the chump champ like Rampage who just gave up his title due to the lack of hunger! Chuck Liddell had this Hunger when he reign and now it will be Andersen Silva’s time to rule!!

Hey, listen if there is one thing I can say as a fan of MMA is that the UFC card that has been strung together, is a little weak, i’m still gonna watch it, but lets be realistic other then the main card the rest of the fighters are unknown’s which is fine and dandy. Anderson Silva might be making a mistake doing this, but who cares a fight’s a fight no need to overanalyse. As for the Affliction card I must admit it seems quite tempting to watch, but let’s be serious anyone expecting a war is for lack of a better word retarded, Sylvia stinks and Fedor is great, simple. Fedor will win this fight hands down Tim Sylvia is slow and huge and Fedor is tactical, and explosive, Instead of spending your hard earned money, I’ll tell you what is gonna happen; Tim is gonna run and sprawl ( just like he did against Couture) and Fedor is gonna shoot and get stuffed, in other words BORING, if you are gonna soend your cash at least you’ll see Nogueira and a couple other very good fighters, but I think I’ll stick to the UFC, it’s free for shit sakes and not only that but Silva is more entertaining to watch then Fedor (but he is real good). P.S> I still can’t believe Rampage lost….

DVR the Affliction fight and copy it to a DVD…by Christmas Affliction will be Chapter 11 and the DVD might be the only way to watch Fedor fight again.

It might also take that long to forget how boring Sylvia is and convince yourself to watch the fight again.

The Affliction card looks pretty damn good…..minus the fact that it is mostly a bunch of old school ufc fighters…..and it costs $$$. I’ll probably watch it. But there is no way I’m gonna miss Anderson Silva. I just wish they were putting him against somebody with a more consistent record.

A silva has never fought machida as far as I know and btw try not to 4get irvins got 1 punch power in his hands and a solid chin,anderson could easily get caught(I don’t think he will but its mma and anything could happen)

anderson silva was a light heavy weight fighter before he came to ufc, so this should be no problem for him. Okami deserves a chance against him because he actually has a victory against him.( even though it was by a d.q.) Silva should be better at light heavyweight and after he gets a couple wins in he can avenge his loss against machida.

i think this is excellent. i’ll watch both. i am interested in seeing who wins between Fedor vs. Sylvia (Q: remains if Fedor is the real deal or not?) and i am hoping Silva has a good camp despite it being short. i think Irwin maybe a bad match up. he isn’t as good a striker as Silva but Silva isn’t use to light heavy weight. i would be curious as to the weight he is at now. pumping iron to put on weight isn’t exactly the smartest. i hear kids say this all the time. start mma & they say they wanna put on 25lbs of muscle. the thing remains that a fighter is more agile, evasive, stronger, elusive, and better at one weight class where they are naturally at. i respect what Silva is doing. he should win but its not a give me. Silva could get caught. he has a good chin but its not meant to take punishment. if his reflexes are off or his body is not use too being at this weight class, he could get caught like Houston did in 3seconds. Silva has great head movement. i think this is Silva’s biggest test yet, bigger then Henderson. he’s moving up in weight, short period of time, risking all the marbles as he is considered to be unbeatable like Roy Jones Jr. back in the day. looking forward. i am picking Silva by early stoppage first round. Fedor by arm bar first round. i do believe we will see a shock in one of these fights though. i would prefer Fedor to lose instead of Silva. i think they’ll both win however, i think one will almost get caught or almost get subbed. something crazy will happen this night on the main event. looking forward.

Don’t forget. Anderson cuts to 185. So he probably walks around at about 200. Not much of a stretch for him to go ahead and fight at that weight. Who does he fight if he stays at MW? Okami and Bisping are the only two left. I’d like to see him fight Bisping but I would rather see him take on the best at 205. Liddell, Wanderlei, Shogun, Rampage. Those are superfights. He hasn’t just beat everyone he has faced at MW, he basically destroyed them. Stopped all of them in two rounds or less. Leben,Lutter,Franklin twice, Marquardt, and Henderson. Let him move on to greener pastures.
