More bad news for Gary Shaw
June 24, 2008 by Sam Caplan
Paul Balsom just posted an excerpt and a link from an MMAPayout.com report indicating that EliteXC Live Events President Gary Shaw has basically been phased down and could ultimately be phased out.
Well, if that’s indeed the case, that’s not the only bad news Shaw has to navigate through right now. According to a report on 15rounds.com, two of his better boxing prospects, flyweight titleholder Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire and junior middleweight contender James “Mandingo” Kirkland, fired Shaw as their promoter over the weekend.
The report goes on to state that the two fighters fired Shaw over claims of a breach of contract and for failure to provide revenue statements as provided by the Muhammad Ali Act.

great news go back to boxing i still remember his kid on hdnet telling everybody to be afraid of kimbo slice hes the real deal im sure all the top mma heavyweights were really scared they cant fool the real mma fans like they can fool boxing fans !
Farewell fatty in a tracksuit you will not be missed.
Go elsewhere and try to change the rules of some other competition. you know invent new categories to make sure “your” guys havea the best advantage, etc, etc
Or better yet, just go away. Your fat ass, jump suit wearing crook of a promotor will not be missed. Maybe you and kimbo can start a promotion together
LOL!
Should also be noted that he cheaped out on a purse bid for one of his only decent fighters left, Chad Dawson, who will now have to defend his title in Bucharest, Romania against Romanian-Canadian Adrian Diaconu. Shaw was outbid by something like $600,000 K for the fight.
Jordan, weren’t there talks about a Tarver vs. Dawson fight on Showtime? What happened to that?
Maybe now that fat f*** can take some dressing lessons and get out of the shuffleboard circuit on the Loveboat.
I’m glad he’s gone. Maybe now, someone with a true business sense will step up and act/dress accordingly.

Hey Sam, didn’t you mean to say:
“Well, if that’s indeed the case, that’s (not the) only bad news Shaw has to navigate…”
Personally the exit of Shaw will help people take EliteXC seriously. I personally don’t trust the organization based on this one individual. So, when there is a problem with a bad call, or some sort of Meragliotta “rules” situation, one has to question Shaw’s ethics, or lack thereof.
Boot Shaw, it will only help the MMA industry gain credibility.
and dana goes muahahahahaha …
Is it just me, or does everyone feel a little more greasy and dirty everytime you see a picture of Shaw??
with regards to the dawson v. tarver fight.. dawson madatory is diacunu…so unless he wants to drop the belt he would need to face that guy….
El Boxeo is on the money. If Dawson gets past Diaconu in Romania, he will probably face Tarver.
the shaws are the only people in the sport that makes don king look good
